What Is The Main Use Of Your RAT Knife?

The old man EDCs the RC-3 and RC-4. The RC-4 was a hunting knife this past season. It skins and processes deer very well.

My RC-3 rides along in my Maxpedition Lunada during the week (EDC bag) but sees much more use on the weekends for EDC chores around the house and yard. For me, it's perfect for front pocket carry and that's where it's usually found on the weekends. Like everyone else says, it can easily handle just about any "normal" task you ask of it. Great knife all-around.

Well I tend towards having the RC-3 as my main working blade, general bushcraft. The Izula is my EDC some of the times (I carry a Gossman PSK mostly) and thats all I have of the RC line so far. There is a RC-3 and an Izula in my ARES/CERT go bag at all times.

Early in the season, snow is just leaving the ground, so I hope to be able to expand on this before too long. Up until now, I have been carrying Ontario RATs or TAK-1s, and Gossman's 99.9% of the time.

Let's see, RC-4 for cutting apart bundles of marijuana (mexican hemp rope is tough to cut) that I've seized to be weighted and tagged. Also cut flex-cuffs from prisoners, rope ladders from the border fence and whatever cutting jobs I come across or for gun-retention if need be. I keep it right there on my belt. The amazing thing is how that knife can hold an edge! I've sharpened it twice in 2 months and it really didn't need it. Amazing!

I use my RC-6 for outdoor purposes. I went hiking last summer for 5 days and it outstandingly substituted my usual 0.6 kg camp axe.

My Izulas are pretty much general pocket knives, have one with me most times. Use them for everything from opening packages, trimming my nails, picking my teeth to cutting up food, removing splinters and opening mail.

RC-3 and 4 are my working knives. If I'm not going to be around town, or if I think I might need a bit more knife, they get strapped on. Hunting, woods bumming, camping, fishing, working.

RC-6 hasn't hit it's stride just yet. I guess it's my SHTF knife, truck knife, camp knife.

But since the S hasn't HTF, I sold my truck and can't afford to take a weekend off to go camping, the RC-6 is my "hold in the mirror and look menacing" knife for now.

Well, I use them for whatever I have to do with a knife. No matter what it is, there is a RAT for it. Or if there isn't I make a rat work :D

due to laws here in holland you can't carry a knive around but only if you have a good reason.
And only a blade no longer than 3.5" and no spring blades and there some other rules.
My RC-3 is my camp/outdoors/fishing knive in holland and my RC-5 is used to clean my fingernails
and sometimes it will come with me to the woods in holland when im off trails.
i also going to carry the RC-5 (going to because i just got it) on vacation going on outdoor trips in other country's

Jerry, You must be a By God Freaking Grizzly Bear if you're using an RC-5 to clean your fingernails.

Note to self: Don't Piss Jerry off -under any circumstances.... :D

No brand. Tommy, a guy I go pig hunting with makes it. It's one of his family's recipes. I've tried a few times to get the recipe out of him with no luck. He's real big on brains. Not too many people appreciate them anymore, but ole Tommys country folk and knows what he's doing. He gets some goooood corn wiskey too. :D

Hey Hey! I bet we could get up an order for some of that! Another reason to meet at blade! lol :D
