What is the most interesting thing to cut visually, in your opinion?

I was cutting some vegetables today and I noticed that some are more exciting to cut than others. For example, cut a bundle of green onions and they jump all over the place. Cut a yellow onion properly and it is a geometric puzzle that is visually interesting to see break down. Cut a carrot and see how strong the root vegetable is and the sound it makes. Would love to hear your opinions.

An old timer taught me how to efficiently cut potatoes to fry. Little 1/4” cubes.

Its not hard, or time consuming.

first time my mother in law ate my breakfast potatoes. She said “if I spent that much time cutting potatoes I wouldn’t let anyone eat them!” Lol.AFB307EC-F30E-4B7D-82D0-1A5B8C47B6EC.jpeg9950DBBA-04A1-482E-BBFD-67A4EA5CD2BA.jpeg

Cheese, mustard, the rug, air. I especially like cutting in line, the visual of other people's faces when I do it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

People are more auditorily pleasing to cut than visually.

Ok, in all honesty, I like taking a block of colbyjack and attempting to separate the two perfectly. Creates some very interesting shapes.

Never got into the cutting myself thing though. I cut myself accidentally enough that anymore wasn't necessary.

I'm not sure if I'd describe people as auditory pleasing to cut, too loud! ;)

In terms of positive auditory cuts, I think that certain things sound better or more interesting than others. It's frowned upon doing, but batoning with your knife makes a great sound and a nice crack at the end. Filleting fish can make a nice sound of the blade running along the ribs.

I think it looks cool when you cut wood with a very sharp knife and it leaves a glossy finish. I finished a wooden kitchen spoon this way with no sandpaper or files used.

If we’re going for pure beauty then of course my face after I cut all the stray hairs off with a straight razor. ;)
