What is the most unusual knife that you have in your collection??

Chefget, that's a great one! :)

My most unusual knife would probably be an old Swedish balisong w/ fish scaler. The design dates at least to the 1940's if not older, but it even has a spring-loaded latch.

I have a solid steel Mike England survival knife. Its all one piece, from the blade to the guard to the handle and then painted (epoxy coated?) battleship grey. The single most solid piece of sharpened steel I have ever owned. really a nice blade shape. It also feels like it made of lead, I couldn't imagine lugging it around. Kydex sheath. What ever happened to that maker?

Interesting thread. Without a doubt my most unusual is this one:

It is about the size of a small barlow, with two identical blades 1" apart.

Turns out it is "Pecan Budding" knife, designed to take thin, precisiely uniform strips off the bark of pecan trees. The knife probably dates to the 1920-30's.

My most unusual knife has to be one that Neil Blackwood made for me. The actual model escapes me at the moment, but I know some of you guys have one. It's best described as a skeletonized hawkbill tanto neck knife. It's pretty freaky looking, but actually a good design. I don't think The Doctor make these anymore.....

RattlerXX: Nothing wrong with that Schrade - like that blade!
Esav: the Laci Szabo RAD - very nice but out of my reach.
Biohazard: Your Swedish balisong is outstanding! Just curious - what is the OAL in open position & what is the handle material?

One of my unusual knives is a folding bowie like the Muela that Clydetz posted a picture of.

Mine is a handmade automatic that was made in Afganistan. It was given to me by a friend who grew up in Afganistan back in the sixties(His father worked for the US State Department). It is not as nicely finished as the Muela and has horn scales.

My other unusual one is an All-American saw-back survival throwing knife made back in the seventies by the late Harry McEvoy. He told me he only made 50 of them. When I expressed my disapointment that they were no longer made, he sold me one of the two he had in his personal collection! What a grand guy he was.

Yeah, I really think it's a cool piece. I actually bought it off of eBay not too long ago. It's just a little more than 8 inches overall and the handles have bakelite handles. The knife is discussed a little more in detail in this thread over in the balisong forum. :)
