What is the One "Must Have" Knife?

I would say a Kephart.

I've owned hundreds of knives and after trying the Kephart pattern, I'd honestly be cool with it being my only knife.

I think some knives are very symbolic of some innovations or features

I think:
A SAK - for multiblades knives
A buck 110 - for a backlock
A Sebenza 21 - for the framelock
A Emerson CQC7 - for the wave feature
A PM2 - for the compression lock + spydie hole
A Hinderr XM18 - for the lockbar stabiliser
An opinel - for a regional knife
Either a griptilian or a 940 - for the axis lock
A case knife - for a traditional
Etc...

These a few exemples that speak to me but I think you can get what I mean

Mulit-Tool: Leatherman Wave

I could probably do anything I need to do with a knife with those two, and if I lost it all that’s where I’d start again.
