Up until now every knife buy i have ever done even with individuals on this site has gone swimmingly. But for the first time i'm in a situation where i dont know what the proper etiquette is.

I recently placed an order with a custom knife company called shadowtech knives. My order was for two (2) knives totaling a little over 170 dollars. this was on the 3rd of january. On their website it says most things ship out within 10 days with many modesl actually being on hand and shipping out within 3 days. I received what appears to be a confirmation email on the 3rd after placing the order.

It is now the 20th (17 days later) and i havent heard a peep from them. 4 days ago i emailed them requesting a status update, and i never heard from them. Today i called them 4-5 times through-out the day starting at around 1345 and the last call being around 1900. all i got each time was a messaging machine.

What is my next step?? i want my order, and im not usually one to get jumpy because of all my good experiences, and i posted about them here on the forum and got positive feedback. It says that they are at shot show from the 17th through the 20th. could it be that they were just so busy with the prep for shot show that i cant get in touch with them??? i am thoroughly confused. if there is a delay i dont mind it i just really wish i was informed. Can anyone shed some light on this situation?? what is the proper thing to do? how long do i wait?? do i keep sending emails and calling until there is a reply?? ive been waiting the better part of a month for my order to ship and im just starting to get worried at this point.

Anyone that knows if they were at shot show, or wether they suddenly have a back-log id be really appreciative to hear from them.

Well, they are probably at SHOT. Whether this is excuse enough is your decision.

I know from personal experience that they're horrible at returning messages, but they also make a bajillion knives so it takes them time to make them before shipping.

If you paid via PayPal or CC, start a claim & reversal. Nothing gets a Seller's attention like a claim/chargeback.

Hmmm so this is par for the course with them? i am willing to wait a bit in that case.

I am actually not familiar with a chargeback. i payed with a debit card. what does it consist of?

Well i can eat my words. My order shipped today. I didnt hear back from them mind you, but this shot show thing is more than enough excuse for me. I'll post on this thread when i get my knives in hand.
