What is the purpose of the Applegate-Fairbairn design? / Is this knife even that?

This is an A/F folder I commissioned Rob Dalton to build... I think the Col. would be pleased.

I'd like to hear everyones opinions on ... which American made knives you'd recommend . I would prefer a folding knife with a strong lock . Thanks .

There is no "one only" knife suitable for "fighting".
Only suitably made products which fit a specific individual's requirements for the day.
for a factory made knife, have a look at the Benchmade Bedlam 860

it has great ergonomics, allowing for a very secure sabre or ice pick grip.

Thanks . I love the easy one hand opening and the handle looks quite comfortable . I'll definitely check one out .

Its pretty much a copy of Bob Terzuola's ATCF folder. I have one of the old Camillus versions. Its actually a well made knife but the only thing I really dislike about it is the paper thin liners. The Terzuola knife does not have the "quick action opening" though.
