What is the shank size on a bader tool arm

If you mean the diameter of the shaft for the wheels, etc. it's 5/8"

I like the shape of the handle on your knife, it seems thought out. From the looks of the grind, I would say that the plunge should be carried back further. Unless there is a choil or something to offset the grind, I generally bring my plunges back close to the guard.

i wanted to know the size of the square for the tooling.

thanks for the input, i thought about the plunge line, i liked at first but now that i look at it if i bring it back about .25 it'll look a lot better
