What is the simplest knot for a lanyard

Hmm… Maybe you’re thinking of a Figure-of-Eight knot, Mies? It’s symmetrical and very simple. It can be tied with two strands next to each other, like Siggyhk explained. www.ehow.com/how_7534_tie-figure-eight.html.

I really like the Carrick bend. It has an elegant design and it’s not terribly difficult to tie. Here’s some more info… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrick_bend

Over the last twenty minutes or so, I’ve been tying a bunch of diamond knots while sitting here in front of the computer. :) They seem to turn out best when you’re especially careful tightening them.

Ahh... Thanks, Gryffin! I hadn't heard of the Walker knot before. It's a very cool little knot!

Gryffin you are the man!

Hey, even a stopped clock is right twice a day!! ;)

I'm no knot expert, but I like to tie simple lanyards, and stumbled across that one myself about a year ago. Pretty simple, but you have to be careful how you snug it up, to get the strands to cross right. It definitely comes in handy when you don't want a big, bulky knot, but want something neater than an overhand or figure eight.
