O.K., CHICOM made aside, let's try for an "all around stinker"
either U.S. or European made.

Me : Hubertus ; a leaf spring auto, that, at
$75 broke the spring after regular use!

What say the augerers?

AET :D

Aside from cheap knockoffs, the worst knife I've ever handled (and sadly, own :() is the Spyderco BRK Native.

This may not go with some of you, but I was pretty disappointed with the SAK Trailmaster.

I'd say its a knife that looks and markets as being made for a certain task, then doesn't perform. As such, fake combat knives are the most disgusting and top my list of "stinkers".
SpecPlus: Guilty!
SOG 440-A and AUS8: Guilty!
These knives may be ok for some uses, but advertising them as combat worthy is reminiscent of Schindler's WW2 arms factories.
I wish someone had schooled me back then, but at least I didn't lose much in the process! Hopefully someone can learn from my mistake.

BTW, don't want to start a firestorm here, that's just where I draw my line, YMMV.

CRKT make good products and I own at least half a dozen of their folders but the two I really can't stand come from their line-up.

Namely the Mo'skeeter and the PECK.

I would have to say a knife from the early 1960's, a slip-joint called a 'banana knife.' I had one.

It looked cool, kind of like an elongated Barlow knife. It usually came with very fragile mother-of-pearl grips. The blade was very thin with an extreme distal taper. Slicing fruit was about all it was really good for, and paring knives were cheaper.

Alas, it was really shiny and the handle looked fancy. I carried mine for a bit, sold it to another guy who was struck by it and I went back to stilettos. At least THEY locked open.

Boker TopLocks. Its a lousy lock design, basically made that way to facilitate an easy auto conversion, with extremely poor quality control (both the German and Argentinian made).

Clones from China over all i would say, Pakistan clones a close second!

Heck i didn't read enough before i posted! :p hehe BTW Hubertus makes a great auto knife, broken springs can happen on any auto knife, i have a few Hubertus auto's and there still firing like a rocket after over 35 years. I would email Hubertus and see if they can help you out.

Any of those cheapo junk knives you see at flea markets are the worst in my book, but if you're talking about an absolute steaming dump of a knife that has been made by an otherwise reputable brand... how about the Schrade Cliphanger? YAK!

The liner on mine is as thin as a piece of paper and flat out does not work, the blade goes dull just looking at it, and the thing is ugly as hell. I use mine as a glorified grout scraper!

I just can't believe the Cliphanger was made by the same company that makes the Sharpfinger (one of my favorite "old skool" fixed blades) and all those nice slipjoints...

Uhg!

Yep, I have to agree -- The Boker Toplock.
I still kick myself for spending money on that one.

But I like the CRKT Neck Peck. I use it around the house quite a bit. Light chores nothing too heavy.

Well made but aflicted with horrible design;
Airkat knives, Extrema Ratio knives, and the Brown WSK from the movie, "The Hunted"
Also anything made in China, India, or Pakistan, and anything made from AISI 420, 425, and a few others.

Anything, and I mean anything , hawked by those disgusting "knife" shows on HSN and the like. It sickens me to see them rip-off designs by Spyderco, BM and many others. Those bozo pitch men are so fond of saying " If this were under "another name brand" it would cost five times as much". What they don't mention is the fact that those "other brands" are also one hundred times better than the piece of crap that they are holding.
