What is the "wow" factor with Becker knives?

For me the "wow factor" is that there is no wow with the knives, Until you use them. Then you realize that all the design features, handle ergonomics, the choice of steel, and the price point all add up to a very nice knife that isn't trying to be something it is not. An overhyped P.O.S. For that I thank you Ethan, your knives are just my style.

Then you hang out here. You see Mr. Becker answering questions and thanking people for buying his knives. Every word seems genuine and from the heart. Any issues with his products he bends over backwards to make the customer happy. He also has annual gatherings at his house and from what I have seen on here is a very generous man. It makes it easy to use and recommend his designs.

All of the generosity spreads to other members of this forum. People freely give advice and lend a hand to help this community grow.

With the "Nose to the grindstone" attitude of his designs and the man himself as well as the attitude he promotes on, here how could you not be supportive of this company?

I can't really say for sure because I don't have a huge collection but what I can tell the "wow" factor is that you get a REALLY well designed blade for CHEAP. I've never looked at the specs of a becker and not agreed with them and the design completely. You also get the ability to customize to your suitings. Handle really important? Upgrade to some micarta. Sheath really important? Get something custom made or do it yourself. Blade really important? Well.. You've already got that covered, and by the time you get everything the way you wanted you've still paid about as much as it all would've cost in the first place. This also means if your on a budget, you can take a while to pay for it all and still end with this great knife that's built how YOU wanted it. Seeing Mr. Becker on here talking to and conversing with his customers and knowing some of the money you spent went to this great guy is really cool. All in all you just get this workhorse that doesn't have any wierd frills or stupidness, just great blades.

ameican made great steel and one of the deciding factors was the you tube vids with interviews with ethan he seems too be a down too earth honest just regular guy !! how could you not want too own at least one of his knives!!

exactly my thoughts. After I have one in hand and get into the groove using it and find the best holds, angles, and force to apply I get the WOW. Another dimension that some have touched on little is the modification potential and incredible community here in the BK&T subforum. This place has gotten me motivated to get outdoors more, work on craft projects and be a more generous human being. Seriously. I gave away a knife a while back...wtf...I'm a knife nut who loves blades. I don't normally part with knives easy... :D
