what is this buck?

well i seen this mini buck hunting knife
no number or other id but buck usa
seems small
is it a hobby knife
or a rare surgical knife?
sure is diff... is it rare?

This is the model 294 Caper done for Bass Pro about 1992-1994. As I recall, the blade is stamped only BUCK/USA. From time to time, I have one on my consignment list. Came with a nice brown leather pouch type sheath. Handle is probably impregnated birch and it was stained to resemble cocobolo.

Looks like one of Flatlanders 405 steak knives that got overused.
