hey guys! I'm new here. Very nice community I see :) I'm from Turkey/Istanbul and I got a knife from my old man. (sorry if I created this thread under the wrong topic) It's really functional, it can carve wood and shape it very easily but the only problem is that I don't know it's name, history, what it's actually used for or is it just a simple knife. If any of you know about these things I'd be real glad to be informed :)

Here are two photos of it:

I checked out the name on the steel and it's a new company. But I want to know if this shape is just bullshit or does it have any history :) Thank you.

We call them "hawkbill" knives, and are used for cutting carpet.

Is that a guitar amplifier under the knife?

Oh yeah makes sense. There are a lot of rope and string business around where I live. Gonna go to one of them learn how to use it :D Yes it's a electronic guitar amplifier :) I do some Lynyrd for relaxing sometimes

This is a good example of a pruning knife, typically used in agriculture. Do a search in the Traditional forum and you'll find lots of them, and plenty of history. It would be interesting to know why a chemical company chose this pattern as a promotional knife.

Welcome to the forums. :)
