What is this pattern?

I picked this up for $5 at the flea market today. It's longer and wider on one side than the other by about an inch and it looks like it was made that way.
Didn't think much of it until I knocked off the surface rust and found Kelly Hand Made on one side and True Temper Kelly Works on the other.
Any idea as to age?

It wasn't made that way. One side was just worn down more, which is pretty normal for double bits when used as intended, as one side is used for rougher cutting to save your finer-edged bit from bark, knots, and dirty wood.
Thanks for the clarification. I've got lots of db's but none worn like this.
