What is this scale material?

I just did an internet search and found the exact knife on a website as a discontined model. I won't post their picture, but here's the description.

"Case Knives: Case CopperLock Knife, Leopard Bone, CA-8609

The illustrated Case Knife is the Leopard Bone (61549WLSS) Case CopperLock Knife that features a locking Wharncliff blade made of Tru-sharp surgical steel. The butterscotch bone handle of this Case Knife, 4 1/4" closed, has been burnt and embellished to resemble a Leopard's coat; includes a lockback, a nickel silver Case shield and nickel silver bolsters. The Case CopperLock Knife with Leopard Bone handle weighs 2.8 ounces.

Thanks for listing the info and your pics Dave. The Wharncliff blade is perrty popular here, so I'm sure a few folks will be searching for them now.

BTW, Good to see you over here in Traditional :D

Thank you. I realized that I hadn't even looked at my Case, Schrade and other brands in a long time. I really like the Wharncliff blade and really wish Buck would put out a 532 with one.

Oh, and I did find the box for the Leopard Copperlock and it's dated 02/20/2006 so they haven't been gone too awful long.

Thats good you found the box. Maybe with a little persuading :D, Buck would bring out a Wharncliff. I have never tried one, but Case now has a few versions with WC blades, and they seem to sell really well

I have just had a look in here, I think thats a very cool knife!, early next year I am going on a hunt for a real nice Wharncliffe.
Thanks for showing us!!

These guys are having you on, plumberdv, and this is more serious than they are letting you know

It has a rare form of measles, mortal to all cutlery if left untreated

Penicillin and quarantine is the cure, and the only facility I know of is on the NW Coast. I could speak to the owner if you like
