Beketen King Kong M390.jpg
Being "born again" in knife collecting I've missed a lot, but one thing that doesn't change is that I'm not at all afraid of buying from questionable sources in hopes of finding a hidden gem that others are too afraid to venture or attempt.

That said, I will never knowingly buy a fraud. So, I do not recognize this design at all, do you?

I'm not interested in opinions on my buying habits or taste, just if you recognize it as a legit knife I can buy from a legit source or not. If not, I'm so trying it from AliExpress, damn the consequences!

Update: finally found some more pictures from a reviewer on the sales post I never noticed before and there's a logo on it. Also just saw that they offer a logo and no logo option, which tells me it might be suspect. Does anyone recognize this logo? Sorry I'm still not very versed in the current knife market to know better myself, please help before I make a mistake...-1105028015609851543.jpg

Doesn't look like direct copy of anything I have seen unless a custom design.
Looks interesting though with no visible pivot, or clip screws. For the right price I'd give it a go.

Legit or not - I just watched a You Tube about it - google the Beketen King Kong - and that thing is the slickest, neatest thing I've seen in a long time. If you pick one up, please pass along how it is.

After your first comment I feel like you're trolling me, but I honestly don't care if under the same banner there are counterfeits, I only care if the ones I buy are. I know only enough about knives to stay away from anything Benchmade or ZT on AliExpress or DHG8 (which I don't use the latter anyway). But i know there are thousands to maybe millions of customs out there that I simply know nothing about and I do not want to buy fakes. That's my only line. Sterile copies I'm okay with. I won't personally knowingly do them, but they don't bother me.

Anyway, I'll wait and see what others have to say before I make the leap. I'd hate to pay $150 just to find is a fraud.

That's exactly my thoughts. It is a bit steep for a punt, at something like $150, but I'm extremely tempted. There's a YouTube video of it that another posted pointed out, but I think the dood is speaking Russian or similar, so I can't make out anything other than the visuals. Looks nice to me, but I just don't want to cross that one line I've drawn.

“Going where no man dares to go… the bowels of AliExpress…”

You’re a real pioneer, JayDeep.

Personally I’d steer clear of anything resembling AliExpress, but I live in constant fear of wasting money on a turd.

Trust me I get it. But after spending all kinds of thousands on Benchmades with terrible alignment, sticky pivots and garbage scales, and the fact that all the Chinese stuff I've tried thus far easily beats them as far as i can tell, I just cannot see any reason not to. I've got the disposable income and the willingness...

Why not let me potentially waste my money to seek out the possible gems I claim I'm looking for and should I actually do so, come back to tell you all so you can reap the benefits, should you come to trust me at some point...?

Whether or not the product is legit, buying from places like aliexpress furthers the problem with counterfeiters. It is a feeding ground for them.

I've never (purposely) bought anything fake or counterfeit. If I can't afford it I'll either buy something else, save up, or just not have it.

Agreed with the last part that's why I'm asking. I thought that was obvious. I don't want to buy a fake so I need to ensure it's not first, or at least attempt to. I love the look of this knife design entirely. If it is something being faked then I want to know where I can buy it legit because I want it, bad!

I disagree with the first part. If people stopped buying the fakes and only bought the originals of which there clearly are from what I'm seeing, then they wouldn't produce the fakes anymore. It's simple logic as far as I'm concerned. It's fundamental business, you make what sells.

Look, I cannot speak for those who buy fakes, I don't care to, but I will not be lumped in with them all wily nilly as some vague notion of guilt by association. Not without pointing out that there is a clear and definitive line between them, regardless whether some choose to ignore it or not.

Just added this as an update to original post, but would love some feedback as to what this logo might be. I don't recognize it.

Not sure why my post was removed, but can anyone identify this logo for me please?-1105028015609851543.jpg

The knife is made by Beketen Knives in China. As such I would expect that is their logo.
Beketen makes clones. Just look up Beketen 940 for example.....its a copy of the Benchmade 940.
The knife in question is "heavily influenced" by the work of Dmitry Sinkevich....

It looks clean & sleek...based on the video mentioned above. Also looks to have nice fit & function...blade centered, action & lock up. 👍
I'm not fond of the 'lateral line' design on the scales, however, not sure if they added them for possible traction in hand (?) or merely a design addition.
Unique blade grinds.
Curious about the blade steel, handle material, and how the pocket clip is tightened &/or removed.
B.T.B.

...Any thoughts on what clone this piece might be replicating ?

I don't see any resembled to anything Dmitry Sinkevich at all. I've perused Blade HQ, Arizona Knife archives with that name and nothing even remotely close comes up. I was hoping to find out because I want this knife but I want original only. Thanks for the info, this is exactly why I come here.
