What is this thing?

It looks clean & sleek...based on the video mentioned above. Also looks to have nice fit & function...blade centered, action & lock up. 👍
I'm not fond of the 'lateral line' design on the scales, however, not sure if they added them for possible traction in hand (?) or merely a design addition.
Unique blade grinds.
Curious about the blade steel, handle material, and how the pocket clip is tightened &/or removed.
B.T.B.

...Any thoughts on what clone this piece might be replicating ?
I don't see anything even close from this Dmitry Sinkevich from my searches online. But i an curious if some of the more experienced folk might. I want to pull the proverbial trigger so bad, but I'm being patient as to not cross that line inadvertently.

I don't see any close matches on Dmitry Sinkevich's gallery at sinkevichdesign.ru, but maybe I'm missing something because of the way the thumbnails are cropped.

There is also a discussion on reddit, "Beketen King Kong: Surprisingly Good"

Amazing what can happen when people open their minds and actually discuss the value of the topic itself, not assumptions associations. Thanks for this and your assistance in research.

If you choose to put your faith in the integrity of companies that sell cheap fakes, as you say "to each their own".
I don't think you understand. I'm not putting any faith in anything. I'm simply willing to take a punt on something a little more unknown than maybe others might. That's not faith, I'm not here extolling it's superior value, I've not owned it yet. I'm just asking to ensure I'm not overstepping that line. Unlike others, also, I'm not willing to condemn something without actually knowing anything at all.

Mmmmmmmmmm, word salad so you know it's good!

Wasn't this knife also recommended in the castration thread? :D

I don't see any resembled to anything Dmitry Sinkevich at all. I've perused Blade HQ, Arizona Knife archives with that name and nothing even remotely close comes up. I was hoping to find out because I want this knife but I want original only. Thanks for the info, this is exactly why I come here.

Do a Google image search....

You’ve asked for - and received - good advice from those BF members who’ve had far more experience than you. No one can guarantee that what you buy won’t be a forgery, or that you won't get “baited and switched” with something other than the original you paid for. If you won’t heed that advice then just buy it and find out. I think KOD’s observation that despite the possibility of receiving an authentic knife you are patronizing an organization that traffics in fraudulent merchandise. Many consider that bad form. A fool and his money (disposable or not) are soon parted. I think that's in their business plan.

I take what everyone says into consideration, but I do not at all let it sway me if it isn't convincing. So far it hasn't been. It's all been empty soapbox virtue signaling. I'm good with my decision to move forward with this purchase at this stage.

Trust me I get it. But after spending all kinds of thousands on Benchmades with terr ible alignment, sticky pivots and garbage scales, and the fact that all the Chinese stuff I've tried thus far easily beats them as far as i can tell, I just cannot see any reason not to. I've got the disposable income and the willingness...

Why not let me potentially waste my money to seek out the possible gems I claim I'm looking for and should I actually do so, come back to tell you all so you can reap the benefits, should you come to trust me at some point...?
Why did you spend ”thousands“ on Benchmade knives when they have “terrible alignment, sticky pivots and garbage scales”? If what you say is true(highly unlikely), I think you have been buying fakes!

Several Grips mostly, tried full with half serrated (used to like serrated for some reason), was too large. Then got 2 mini in different colors, one with serrations one without, later to determine I hated that V grind. One of them had great action, the others were trash. All of them had poor alignment. Had an Infidel, Bugout (just ordered mini Bugout when drunk and will probably regret it), freak, etc. I can't recall all of them honestly at this stage. Or each reason I hated them. Just recall lots of what I considered QC issues. I actually really like spyderco, find them generally to be really solid with only a little blade play while opening, but none at battery or fully opened.
