A buddy of mine is a bouncer at a local night club. After hours when he was picking up he found this under one of the tables. He knows I'm into knives so he gave it to me.

It is an auto which is illegal in my state but seems to be of decent quality, despite looking like hammered dog shit (in my opinion)

The lock up is no ZT but it's not terrible either. Everything else works surprisingly well. The blade flies out and clicks into place with serious authority. The first time I opened it I nearly dropped it. The blade is a little off center but very sharp. There is no branding or markings of any kind.

Is this just a cheapo from a gas station or is it some hidden gem (kind of) I've never heard of?

Pictured with my 0562cf for size reference.

Trash. Too much decoration without function. Probably unnecessarily heavy. I have a knife that could have come from the same factory. And was probably found under similar circumstances.

The poor finishing and the use of Phillips head screws is a pretty good giveaway that it's a cheapo knife.

It's really not too heavy, I'd say under 4 ounces if my ZT is 5.5. I'd probably actually like it if it didn't have all the useless decoration on the spine and if the handle didn't look like the hilt of a god damned lightsaber.

So the question is: What to do with this abomination? I wouldn't be caught dead carrying this thing, the fact that it is illegal only further reinforces that. As someone who likes knives I can't say I'd feel good about giving it anyone I know. The craziest thing is someone, somewhere actually paid money for this, and someone, somewhere probably thinks it's the coolest looking knife they've ever seen.

I have a little 3$ auto with the same enclosed mechanism and while it is a cheapo the construction makes it pretty solid with zero blade play. It's just a novelty to me though and not kept for any knife reasons.
I've never seen or heard of this type of enclosed mechanism before, and I think it's cool.
Your state may allow the ownership and collecting of switchblades and if so I'd keep this knife.

Found under a table in a club?! Probably dropped after shiv'ing someone.

I'd toss it ... after wiping it down thoroughly. ;)

Just keep opening it until it explodes. Fun for a little while until problem solved.

The first thing I asked when he handed it to me was who got stabbed? It really is the perfect knife for that kind of thing...long and sharp enough to cause some serious damage and cheap enough to not be missed when you toss it after the deed has been done.

I think I'm just going to toss it in the junk box out in the garage. It may come in handy if I need a beater knife for work around the house.

Hammer it into something until it breaks. There are great videos of people doing this with Microtech clones
