What is you favorite Buck knife and why?

Soleil, You've got a 805 ? That is a nice knife . Buck got about everthing right on that series . I had one and traded it away . I've been trying to get another one back ever since . DM

I can't pick just one favorite..... Sorry! I like 'em all! ;)

Top* twenty..... maybe! *(and in no particular order)

Paradigm
Vantage series (all of them)
Alpha hunter folders
Buck 110
Ergo Hunters
Ergo folder
Alpha Dorado
103 Skinner
Buck 110 :D
Buck/Strider 882
Buck 425 Buckcote
Paklites....
Buck 112
Buck 110 ;)
Bucklites

Each model I prefer I think is better suited to one task or another. Some overlap, but some really shine! Your mileage may vary I guess :D

I'd like any Buck knife made before 1961 when Buck opened the factory. Every knife made before the factory was opened.....is a 1 of a kind custom....made by a Buck family member....any one and every one...and "I'll take it!"

Scott, I just did not figure you for such a bland sort of choice . I mean just any old barrel nut model will do ? Ok, your full of surprises . DM ;)

Love the Duke-great look, great feel, sturdy, not to big or small

of course there is the 110

Ima, Why did you post the photo of that old Buck for ? Just to mess me up ? That looks like the first 2 liner . Good looking knife . DM

CA Dave - NM Dave: Yep, the 700 series is the group that I collect and understand. I have displayed them from Atlanta to Eugene to Boise, but they remain in their secure cases for the next show. I collect them, but have a 701 that is in a sheath ready to be "carried" if mood strikes me. But, my preference is a 532, or 55 - depending on situation. Why? It's the lock back concept. I don't trust myself in many "cutting situations", and the lock back gives me a certain safety valve? At age 72, I need as much safety as I can get.

The 303 will always be sentimental because it was one of the first knives I had when I was younger. But now that I'm older and my hands grew the 301 is the king. When I have it in my pocket the sun seems to shine brighter, women look purdier and somehow taxes don't seem too high. Everyone needs a 301

Geez, that question sends me into space!!!! That said the 301 is a great knife that everyone should own.I overlooked it for years until I was enlightened.:D

I agree with you Scott! It would be hard to pick just one.

Wow, thats a lot that knife does ! Now, If you could cause that to include no pain in the 'dentist chair', I'll be clicking on buy it now !!! Good to see a Texas boy not stretching things . DM ;)

On fixed blades I'd have to say the Akouna and 103 . The right style, size and shape . DM

I switch back and forth between the 301 and Odessys on my favorites. It just depends on what I have planned for the day. If it is "Hard" work it is the Odessys that goes in my pocket. The 301 is just my general duty knife.
PS: I am still searching the Wal-marts in my area for the Paperstone Odessys, I guess I may have to check the Wal-Marts out in Southern Indiana this coming weekend. The search continues:;)

Bought 5 customs in the last two weeks. Have to think about it for a while. Guess it would be a 110 in some form or fashion though! I really like some of those smaller ones in the above post. Might have to look into those too!

Great idea on those new customs! I just ordered a custom shop 110 myself. I can't really declare a favorite. I favor the model 110s though...especially with bg-42.

A drop point FG 112....But my 651 gets a lot of waving around time...

I truly love that knife DM and thanks. Hard to put anything in front of it.
I think I still go with the 500 because it is the sentimental favorite, My 1st Buck and a Christmas present from my mom a couple years after my dad died. I only have one but have 20 110's so by shear weight, it would seem I favor the 110.
