What is your worst knife fear?
Mine is that it will break when I need it most. I have broken many cheap and not so cheap knives, but none in real emergency situations. My second is losing them. Those fears are a big part of why I choose the knives I choose, and the specs they have to make it as not likely as possible for those fears to become reality.

That I won't have one when I really need one.

Example:

Long story short, I walk my dog two times a day. Once before my shift in the morning, and another time after. The one time I didn't have one (out of laziness), I walked out of my door, and a large German Shepard came out of nowhere to sniff my dog. - It was friendly, but it still goes to show how things happen in split-seconds.. What if this.. what if that.. My dog wouldn't stand a chance if he was aggressive. I'm an alert person, and that dog still had the drop on me. I always have a knife now, especially on walks.

I also hate concealed carrying when off duty, so guns are out.

That I won't be able to keep um sharp, I got the wicked edge, no worries any more......

My biggest fear is that the knives I make 20 years from now won't look any better than the ones I make now.:o

Fear? Well I haven't given it much thought, but I guess my worst fear would be that some criminal decides to stab me with one.

My worst fear with my own knives would be that a burglar steals them.

My biggest fear is them rusting. I do try very hard to prevent that though. (I live near the ocean, it's difficult to prevent)

General knife fears for me, the price tag of the knives I like. And me losing them, and the eventual replacement cost for doing so.

I try to keep my knife purchases to $25 or under, who knows if I can keep that up. There are a lot of knives in the $50-100 range I like, and a few in the $100-400 range. The crappy part is the $400 knife is a limited edition knife that I have no chance of getting my hands on, and even if I did I be scared to use it fear of losing or ruining it.

Having the girlfriend find out how much I really paid for them. Then getting stabbed with one after she finds out.:D

My biggest fear? What will happen to them when I die. I have a few knives that belonged to both of my grandpas, a couple of them are over 90 years old. Guess I better put an a footnote in my will so that a dumbass inlaw doesn't end up with the good stuff.

This doesn't really relate anymore, but I can't imagine how awful it most be to be killed by your own sword. To have it for years, always with you in war and then to have an enemy show how it's just a piece of metal as he pushes it through your gut.
