What Is Your Dream Job?

I've wanted to be a vet since I was 2, so it probably qualifies as my dream job. I'd be very happy as either a Marine or mechanic aswell.

I want to work part time behind the counter at a medium sized gun shop/range. Dibs on everything in the case. Dealer prices, range time (especially after hours when there arent any morons around) and you know that store would have the best selection of knives in the tricounty area if I was working there.

Dream job eh, i would love to open a fishing and hunting lodge/resort, some where in northern Ontario or Quebec.

In the 1970's a bunch of my college buddies and I participated in several medical experiments as human guinea pigs. They were studying the effects of administering testosterone to young healthy males and they paid quite well for only a few hours a week. They juiced us and we had to take all kinds of physical and psychological tests. We also had to provide semen samples. So there we were, running around all steroided out and muscular with out of control libidos. We had all kinds of names for the programs like Beating For Bucks, Yanking For Yen, Wanking For Wampum...and we all had very active social lives.

Good times, good times...

But what I've always wanted to do was breed and grow plants commercially.

I had my dream job for ten years. There came a point in my life where I said to myself, "If you don't do it now! you will have missed your chance!" I joined the Army when I was 28 yrs old. I loved that job! I worked on Blackhawk helicopters and was a crewchief on them. I travelled all over the world. I kept that job till I was 38, and only got out because, Bill Clinton, took away my retirement benefits. I seperated from active duty back in 1999.

Six months after getting out they gave all the benefits back. I could have gone right back in at my former rank. I was a hairs breath from doing it. I had the recruiter on the phone and my DD214 iin hand! It would have cost me my family though. Although now my wife sees that it would have been a good thing to have done. She misses it as well at times.

Not a complete loss though. I still work aviation, which is my dream job as well. I'am home every night with my family, and we are stable and not moving every 24-36 months. Still, I really wanted the chance to be a part of the military after recent events.

Airline pilot, flying 'big metal' boeings. I didn't become an airline pilot, because back in the days when I was young, airliners were in their infancy. At that time it was hard to keep them in the air without going up in flames. Most Airliner PR was found on the front pages of the paper in the form of flaming wrecks-not very inspirational for anyone wanting to fly big stuff.

Alternatively, I thought about the gunstore/baitshop, but it didn't happen so I ended up working in a steam plant. Not so bad, good enough pay, and a warm place to work in the winter.

Basically captain on a fishing boat. That didn't have to go through bad seas. And that also made a boatload of money, so I guess I'd have to own my own fleet, and never have a bad trip at sea.
