I have one of Dale's Nessmuk knives and have used it on a couple of deer. Works fine but last I heard the maker had kind of disappeared from knifemaking. Anyone contacted him lately?

My fiddleback forge Nessmuk (back when it was shiny new), it’s my go to fixed blade I carry hiking and hunting. I have about 30+ real nice fixed blades just like this one for a all around model size, feel and cutting performance.

The only one that I currently have is this little piece by maker "nighthaxan", that I picked up several years ago. 3 inch long, full tang, 1084 and 15n20 damascus blade; 7 inches LOA. Pics are nighthaxan's.

Not sure if if it is an exact Nessmuk, but I like the interpretation by Charles Mann. It is his pic. I have one in a darker wood and one in Elk Stag.

Columbia Knife and Tool (or is it Columbia Tool and Knife?) is my favorite production Nessmuk.
I don't have one, but it looks "right" and mighty close to Mr. Nessmuk's sketches.
As for those by custom makers?
No comment. I don't give them much thought, as they are so far beyond my budget I'd probably burn my hand if I ever so much as touched one.

That first one is a one off made by Bill Harsey. I have experimented with the Nessmuk design recently and actually like it as a smaller fixed blade for EDC (3-ish inches). I believe this version by Lucas Bullington at Lucas Forge is about perfect for me. 5/32 O1, flat ground, fancy walnut handle with stainless pins, great feel in hand

Lucas made a 3/16 and a 5/32 version.
