What Is Your Favorite 3" Max Blade Length Folding Knife (No Liner Or Frame Locks)?

3" is the smallest blade length in my rotation, a bit smaller than I like so it's folder I really like if I've kept it.

I've carried traditional whittlers of various brands for the last 70 years. My major problem with them is that they fall through holes in my pocket or work their way out when I sit. Lately my favorite knives have been a small sabenza rotated with a small inkosi which I keep clipped to my pocket. For a change of pace, I carry a small barrage but that may be illegal in your setting. What I like about whittlers is that the three blades fit every situation I face from cleaning or shaping a finger nail to opening boxes. I feel undressed when I don't have a knife in my pocket. Luckily, the only time I've had to dispose of a knife in an airport was a cheap one I had bought as a fill in at Home Depot.

For smaller knives of this type the Native and Mini Tuff Lite are my choice.

GEC #42 Trapper--two 3" blades, the clip is for foodstuffs, the open blade is for all else. It gets very, very sharp and holds the best edge of all my GECs.

Al Mar Hawk would be my vote, in either the classic or especially the Ultralight. Classic look and feel with a killer grind. Don't be put off by AUS-8--as done by Moki, I prefer it to most "supersteels" other than CPM154.

A few months ago I got a mini grip with an M4 blade, it has become a favorite among my small knives. Also recently got a William Henry knife that is pretty good. The mini grip is a better EDC for me though.

Any iteration of the Spyderco C52 Calypso Junior would work. I do wish they would also resurrect the fish scale texturing on some other FRN-handled models.
