What is your Favorite AUS8 folder?

I just got a spyderco tenacious with 8Cr13MoV which is supposed to be comparable to aus8. I will be ordering another one. I swipe my kitchen blades on my sharpmaker sticks frequently, it doesn't bother me having a few knives made of lesser steels as long as I can quickly bring the edge back. I really like the blade shape and edge profile of this knife.

cold steel hatamoto that I wasted 300 on.It is one of my better finished knives

but only "(san mai aus8a)"or, at least that is what hey should call it.

I have been edc ing(mostly ) an endura 1 aus 8 (se) for the past 15 years .Over the years I bought ats 34 ,bg, CPM440V ,vg10 etc.Inluding Endura4 vg10. The endura 1 still sees the most pocket time and us one of the best slicers.Whith minimal upkeep(i'm a user} it still shaves hair.

Boker Wharcom grtsa +1 from me. Have had it in my pocket for the past couple monyhs and it has worked out great. Now thinking about trying out the Trance due to all the positives I hear about it.:thumbup:

Boker Rescom. It's my only AUS8 knife, but it does its job perfectly, (slashes rope and webbing with ease).

I LOVE both my Camillus Heat, and my Blaze, both in AUS8. Mrs. Beckerhead has a Japan made AUS8 Kabar Warthog folder that holds a fair edge too. My Heat has been my EDC for months now, and I am not "underknifed" at all.

My D3's in AUS8, nothing wrong with it at all. But my Gerber Freeman in S30V is the one I carry most of the time. And yes, it's every bit as sharp, and holds the edge longer.

I love the supersteels, and I enjoy the knives I have with S30V and ATS-34/154CM blades. Still, many of my favorite knives have AUS8 blades. What's more, one of my favorite carrying knives, the Cold Steel Recon 1, has a coated 440A blade. My Cold Steel knives are all kept razor sharp, including all the 440As (ProLite, Night Force) and they keep their edges fine. There are some knives, like the CRKT, that sharpen "okay" and are only marginal in keeping their edges, but it varies. I have two M21s that hold a good edge, but they're nothing to write home about. The Voyager line of Cold Steel, though, holds a very fine edge. Even their little "medium" size knife works just great.

The same steel can turn out many different ways depending upon how it's treated and who treats it.

several years ago i had an endura in aus 8 and it was a really good knife. i guess this was the first dealings i had with aus 8 and it did really well. I still think it's a good steel.

+1 for the trance...

I've got three AUS8 knives that I like a lot:

Boker Trance -- What's left to say? Great knife.
CRKT M1 Lightfoot -- Heavy but has a nice blade shape.
Benchmade Panther -- Full flat grind, great useful blade shape, lightweight and it travels with me every time I hit the woods.

Cold steel Scimitar say what you want about the company but the scimitar is a good knife. That does not mean that i will ever buy another cold steel though.
