I want to know what everyone's two favorite balisongs are. The first one is which balisong is your favorite to manipulate. The second one will be the pride of your collection. It doesn't have to be your most prestigious balisong, it might just be your favorite, or it have sentimental value.

I'll go first. I'll go with my BM42. I really appreciate the light weight of the titanium for fast manipulation. My second balisong is my BM44. I like the sleek look of the tanto. Most tanto blades are just the same width from top to bottom. The BM44 starts out narrow and gradually widens at the top to form the tanto.

Who's next?

Well, if you ask me what my best manipulating knife is, I'll say my BM42 (who da thunk it?). It's also the pride of my collection. But oddly enough, the knife I have the most fun with is an over-customized jaguar. I know, I know. I can't do with it what I can do with the 42, but that lazy, heavy-as-hell feel is very relaxing. The inertia of the handles is more apparent and it feels like solid water if that makes any sense at all. And it's great when you're drunk.

For Manipulation, the 44, 45, 48 OR 42 do nicely. The first three manipulating basically the same and the 42 radically different.

Favorite of all time that I have actually owned would be a cross between the 45 and 48.

I've had some Customs as well though too...

And have 2 presently.

I guess my favorite to manipulate, for any extended length of time, is the 42..........To answer the second question

I guess mine will have to be my BM42 or BM42A. My BM42 more because after I get it double edged and mirror polished it is going to be bad a$$.

My favorite two are my Pacific Cutlery, and BM42. The PC has been with me since 1985, and it still looks new. Purchased for about $50.00. The BM42! Enough said!! I have to admit, that my camo Valor almost makes the list.

Not a Kriss, not a Scimitar, but these little guys are mine, all mine, MoooHoooHwahahahahaha!

I don't have to choose between these two, do I? These are very nice indeed...excellent feel to them, solid and responsive.

That's what I used to say about piercings and tattoos, "A little pain and bleeding never killed anybody..."

The sweetest piece in my collection is my Perrin Custom, shown here with my favorite flipper, the BM42s.

Hmm...my favorite to manipulate I haven't seen since the mid-80's.It was the "large" Parker Custom...11" open.It just felt good in the hand, and could do all of my tricks with no problem.I would love to own a pair of those...if I can ever find some (and have the cash on hand).
The pride of my collection is my Compass Industries 1200 Cho No Shi...even though it's missing two inlays right now.I've had it since 84-85,and it's still in great condition (at least to me...).
But,since I don't have a Parker Custom to flip around,my current joy to flip is a cheap copy of a Valor 722 Kamikaze which I've had since the early 90's...and which is still in great condition.

For some reason,I get lucky with the cheapies...they don't "fly apart" on me like they do with others. They'll last me for years, even when I abuse them.I guess most balisongs just like me.

off topic---
eric, what's the story on that perrin custom? pretty sweet, but it confuses the eye... how is that possible?

I hope you guys don't come over here to kill me for this

, but my favorite bali to flip is my old, trusty, wobbly, dull China Cheapie.
My BM 42 and 42A are the ones I love most, although I don't like the anodization on the 42A. I hope to get some customs in the future (I really want a Dobruski or two

) and some Microtechs, and some older Benchmade and PC balis.

I think I'm going to have to go after a kris or a spear point next.
