What is your favorite becker knife and why.

BK-2. My only Becker at the moment. And, after starting with it, I don't know that I'll get another. Unless another BK-2, just for backup.

Another vote for the BK7. I have both the 7 and 2, but I'll always have a soft spot in my heart and a place on my belt for the BK7!!

I've had the 2, 7 , and 9 for a while. Most versatile for me is the 7. Good slicer due to blade thickness. Good length for general purpose use ( not too long or short, easy enough to carry)

Knives that stand out for me are the Jack-of-all-trades ones. There always is a compromise. Wanna chop? Get a 9 , but carry that weight all day. Wanna baton through a train? Get a 2. Same weight issue with a shorter blade. Wanna do a bit of everything reasonably well and have a bit of length? That's why I pick a 7. Slices, chops , shaves , and doesn't weigh me down. To me it's like the USMC on steroids , and we all know the great do-all reputation that knife has.

Stll trying to decide on micarta grips. Don't like the price

it throws really well with that big straight spine, and hits with some authority! :D

Ok, give me your Beckerhead number back, I got some poor kids that could use it.:grumpy:

If I would have broken it it would have been my own dumb fault. Being dumb is OK as long as you take responsibility for it...:D

Speaking of my Beckerhead #, is that why it is taking so long to 'process' it, or are you accumulating a bunch of swag to send along with it?

Im suprised I havent seen lots of BK9 votes... seems to be lots of threads about em.

My favorite is the bk7. Tough, great blade shape and length, light and comfy. great multi tasker.

I like the BK2 a lot, but I wish I could get it sharper. Guess I just am still figuring out the best way to sharpen a blade so thick.

BK11 is great, but the Izula and now Izula 2 just feel a lot better to me. I guess I need to get a BK14. When the new sheathes come out, I'll get one.

Now when the new BK10 come out.. I might have a new favorite. :)

Funny you said "USMC on steroids", because that's exactly why I bought the BK7. I bought the USMC leather handle and leather sheath to display and I wanted a knife then to use. But the USMC seemed a bit light if I wanted to baton a bit just for a fire, or some light chopping, whatever. So I borrowed the Becker line and the BK7 had basically the same blade length, just a little more heavy duty. I know the USMC would be able to handle anything I would put it up to, but I think the BK7 will make things easier on me. Thats what I wanted a heavy duty USMC.
