what is your favorite bush craft knife

I had a Fiddleback Bushfinger. I got it in trade and didn't really know what I had until I traded it off.
It was a beautiful knife and I do miss it.

I have a few, I guess it's my "EDC rotation" version, but in the woods, haha. In no particular order, Condor Bushlore, Kephart, ESEE Laser Strike, Becker 15.

I second your choice OP, such a capable knife for the size. It doesnt break the bank either.

myine is the esee 4:thumbup:

Welcome.

Why is it your favorite "bushcraft" knife? What do you consider the knife tasks of "bushcraft"?

Just trying to get a little deeper into your head, because "bushcraft" seems to be rapidly losing its meaning (like "tactical" or "survival"). Curious what it means to you.

Adventure Sworn Classic, Enzo Trapper and a Dogwood Hiker are my go to bush-crafter type blades. Although, several Helle and Mora knives are also favorites.

That's a very handsome knife, Big Mike. Finnish possibly? Can I ask if/how you modded it? It looks like you took the zero flat grind and convexed it.....did you also round off the transition/shoulder between the unground and ground parts of the knife?

It's a Brusletto "mystery blade" with a manzanita burl handle of my design crafted by John Doyle.

And yes, it's fully convexed.

For me it is more of a backpacking "survival" tool. I love the knife because its not to heavy it has a good thick spine the micarta handles have awesome traction even when wet and i have had a lot of success using it for anything from building shelters to splitting wood.

I don't know about having a 'favorite', but usually I take one (or more) of these knives. This group all have four inch blades. I have a lot of others with smaller, and with longer blades. Heck, I have a lot more with 4 inch blades. ;)
