I think you can whip the Karambit out with the wave the fastest
BUT my favorite is the 8 probably. I'd probably like the Super better, but can't bring myself to buy both 8 and super.
The lines are simple and functional, and it just reminds me of a blade you'd see some crazed commando in Vietnam carrying..... So I guess that's, "The Cool Factor" I'm describing
while I love all 4 of my Emersons (a 13, Traveler, 7A, and a mini-7A), and tho i haven't had any of them for more than a couple months, I gonna have to give the nod to my newest, the mini-7A. I like a small-ish folder, and if id have picked it up first, I probably would have never bought the Traveler.
im probably gonna catch a bit of guff for saying this, but I prefer the waveless models (gasp*...did he really say that?) lol
My CQC 7V seems to steal most pocket time of all my Emersons but like the OP's states the Roadhouse is a heck of knife. I absolutely love mine.
This coming from a guy who had never owned a tanto before. I got bit hard...
Started with a regular Commander, rapidly followed up by a Mini Commander. Then, I ordered a CQC7 AW (which is one of my most versatile Emersons but see the least pocket time as I often pair my Emerson with a different more slicing oriented folder). Then came the CQC 7V and a CQC 10. My Roadhouse was the last but I have a Horseman waiting to be picked up in 2 weeks.
That's my Emerson stable and I am really happy to carry any of them but the more unique Emerson's seem to attract my attention in a way no others do. Since I bought my first Commander, I have always carried an Emerson folder. Every day.
The reason for my long-winded reply is that I seriously doubt that whatever you choose will be your final Emerson and that I feel pretty confident that any model that you choose will serve you well...
The 7A has the perfect blade symmetry for every day use. The CQC-8 and Horseman, too, with all that belly; let's not forget their balance. Of course, I do have a soft spot for the Karambit.
If I had to narrow it down, it'd probably be my CQC-7 Karambit.
New to Emerson as of this year but after having the kershaw/Emerson callab and looking at emerson website the CQC-15 just spoke to me. It is my first Emerson model and I'm sure it won't be my last but as of right now it is my favorite. It just feels right in my hand and for the size I don't even realize it in my pocket.
The Journeyman since it's the only one I've had so far but I have a Tiger ordered. I'll have to get an 8 at some point. I hate to say it but tantos and recurves just don't do it for me.
