What is your favorite ESEE knife?

Where do you find those scales at? Those are cool.

My ESEE 4, tan serrated. Doesn't look as cool as that but I like it, solid piece of kit.

I bought them when Kryptoglow was selling off all his stuff. You can't get them from him anymore but I am sure one of the many scale makers here on BF could do something similar.

I own an Izula and a 3 both with plain edges and drop points. I love both knives. The only thing I dislike is when I bought my Esee 3 I could only find it with the ugly tan sheath.

If I were to list my ESEE (and RCs) I'd list them as follows

1. ESEE-3 (RC-3) - Desert Tan, green canvas handle, molle back with foliage green sheath. Attached to the sheath I have an OD green ESEE pouch (pouch contains an ESEE AH-1, Vic Farmer, lighter, light, etc) and on the pouch I have an ESEE firesteel/striker. For me, it feels good in hand (some people complain the handle is too small), I like that it is 1/8" making it a great slicer. It is small enough to be (technically) NYC legal and it is big enough for anything in the area (I won't be missing for days and have to build a shelter etc). I'd carry and use it more often except for the fact that I have all that stuff on the sheath. I've been thinking of getting one of the recently released uncoated ones.

2. Izula II - Desert Tan, green canvas handle, Izula clip plate attached to sheath (also have a regular sheath and a kydex neck sheath, they're interchangeable with the regular Izula as only handle is different). Nice and simple. I use this one more around the house and such instead of a modern folder. I like that the II has a longer handle than the regular Izula. I do kinda wish it was 1/8" like the 3.

2.5 Izula - Cheating I know but its close to the II, just without the longer handle. Good as a pocket fixed blade, same use as the Izula II for me. I got both my Izulas before the II came out and waited to get the II until it was available in Desert Tan. I have a Desert Tan one (#2260) with ACU paracord wrap. I also have an OD green (#8124) one that I've used the canvas scales ESEE sells, as well as TKC green and ebony scales.

3. ESEE-6 - I bought this one with black with black linen handles (green liners). I switched the handles to the 5's canvas handles. It had a duplicate setup to my RC-3 above. I had this in my bag as a camp knife but in truth I didn't use it much. I switched it out in my bag with a Busse SARGE-7 (molle back and all) as the SARGE is a little bigger, satin and Infi :D

Not sure if you have these in hand Mike but here's a comparison pic I took when I got my Izula II with the 3, a Bark River Bravo Necker 2 and a GEC H73.

The 3 with a H23

The 6 with example pouch/molle setup. This one is now on my SARGE. The 3 has it's own version with a green pouch.

I love the Junglas the most. No practical reason. Every time I unsheath it I just want to tear stuff up or go in the woods immediately. No special gear on it because it fits perfect in the side of my pack.

Next is the Izula II. Just a very practical everyday carry that I use for just about everything. Not threatening, fits good in the hand and can be used for just about every task you can throw at it. I keep a tek lock on mine and keep it attached to my belt alot.

Last is the ESEE 4. I feel this is the perfect size camp knife. Just seems to be available for any use I need at a camp site. Truthfully I love them all the same! You just can not go wrong with ESEE!
