What is your Favorite Handle Material!

Ironwood Starburst is especially beautiful when you steal it out from under my grasp, you Bas@#$d.
George, stole that best piece of Ironwood at the NCCA show, right in front of me. Talk about kicking someone when there down...:(
 
I'm rather fond of woods in general. The more highly figured the better though I like the plainer woods also. Right now I've had the most experience with some dark cocobolo I have. I have some desert ironwood and some stabilized amboynia burl I got from Blade I can't wait to try. It's hard to beat curly bich and caribou too! I will say a lot depends on the style of knife and the other handle fitting.
 
Its well known I am new to all this knife making stuff. My favorite will probably always be wood.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer my question. Seems like most of us all have similar tastes when it comes to handle materials, especially Indian [I got to the nicest piece of ironwood] George.:mad:
 
I like Spalted woods, doesnt really matter which they are all very nice. For an all around working knife I like Linen Micarta then G10.
 
George only thinks he got the best piece of ironwood. I was there Saturday and bought 6 sets of scales. The one George got was the leftovers. Ha! Ha!. By the way Rene how do you like the new platen.

We haven't talk'd about Jim S. and all the ironwood he snagged, an he was proud of it. ( I wish he was here, to hear me):D :D :D

I guess that my favorite would be mammoth tooth. it works best on stick tangs.A good example of what can be done with it is shown in this knife by Schuyler Lovestrand.

Nothing beats a good piece of mineralized mammoth ivory, MOP is second and red coral comes in third.
 
I'd say too what I'm using at the time for the
knife I'm making as long as it's my choice.
be it Ivory, MOP, or any of the Antlers or woods.
