What is your favorite hunting knife and why?

Hey Bruce, I would say that you know a thing or two about knives!! Was wondering how your BG-42 blade sharpens and if you can maintain it with a steel. I have had a custom with that steel but never got to really test it out. Mostly, I use forged blades for skinning now. Thanks!

Jeff Clark, yup, that's the one. I should have given the address for the single photo instead of the group shot, 6th one down. The handle is fine for my medium to large hands, the guard is sufficient (as i said, it is sort of like a knife used in a packing house, which has virtually no guard at all), and the steel is great, I just use a ceramic rod occasionally and a polished chrome butcher's steel, and it's never needed to visit a benchstone. Matt Harildstad did a great job.

Berettaman12000, I've had a little time with a Beretta (M9, privately owned 92FS and now a 96).

While I don't hunt alot, I do need a Knife for the days I do go out in the field.
I used to carry a fixed blade but have switched over to another one of Russ Kommers designs.....CRKT'S Bwana....itas the best folding hunting knife I have ever come accross.
Strong, holds an edge well, easy to clean and a great blade design.....oh and ya its affordable!
