What is your favorite Kershaw knife? Past or Present

I don't know, asa there are many Kershaw models I like... I am really fond of my little Chive, although the Scallion is more handy (and it doesn't break the spring, like it happens with the Chive) :( . OTOH, I was always attracted of technological challenges, therefore the ET couldn't leave me indifferent - a brilliant piece of mechanical engineering, IMHO. Oh and I love the looks of the JYD. But tell you this: make the ZDP Cyclon's blade just a wee bit thinner and it would take the cherry! ;)

lefty small random task

was a good little knife, gave mine away when i got into customs :(

I just picked up a new (Nov 06 blade) Scallion. First impression is OK. It had some visible dings in the blade, but a few minutes with the Sharpmaker and I now have another bald spot on my arm. The clip also looked a little worn.

The lock up is not as strong as my Mini Cyclone (doesn't have that sharp 'snap') nor is it as smooth when using the flipper, but for the price, I expected some trade-offs. It would be nice to be able to reverse the clip, to carry tip up, but the lock prohibits that. Sorry Thomas W., not trying to redesign what appears to be a very nice knife! Ken did a very nice job with the overall design. "Classy" seems to best describe it.

In all honesty, this is a very well make knife for the price. Seems a little more "civilized" than the Mini Cyclone. Perhaps when I put on a suit or nice dress clothes, I'll carry this instead.

I've got a few Kershaws, but the one I really like and I can't seem to find even mention of, was a stag handled integral boot produced back in the mid 1980's. It was produced in gemany I think by Linder. Any one know of the knife and possibly have one for sale? I bought the Bowie and still kick myself for not buying the boot knife at the same time.

Kershaw Ken Onion Blackout. My first Kershaw and still going strong after all of these years.

Bought a Black Gulch back in the 80's and used it to death. The locking mechanism broke on a camping trip a couple of months ago when I was chopping wood with it. I took it back under warranty and got a brand new one. I couldn't believe they made the exact same knife twenty odd years later. Just proves that it must have been a good knife to stand the test of time.

That was called the "survival" mod. #4470 4 7/8 inch double edged blade w/ sheath and an awesome knife , I have seen a couple on ebay and one at a knife show that wasn't in quite the cond. I wanted and way more than i wanted to spend, so I don't have one either. They used sambar stag and they were made in Germany, by whom I am not sure. KAI had a subsidary in Germany and there were at least 6 other models that came from there .

I might as well chime in.

I love my new Blur 1670TBLKST. This is one fun and practical little blade! Sharp as a don't know what!! And looks good to me to boot!

My wife talked me out of my Leek model but I was glad to help her out. She's a new knife lover in progress of transformation! <GRIN> Boy, I'm thankful I stopped by the Wal Mart sporting goods a while back and bought these knives. The little Chive was my first Kershaw.

I need to check out some of the models you folks have mentioned which I'm unaware of....due to just getting into knives like I am. I guess a search under the names listed would do?

Cheers to All fellow Kershaw-ers,
darkop

Besides my EDC S30V Blur my favorite will be whichever knife Thomas has made in CPM M4 steel. heh. Joe

I bought my first Kershaw about a month ago. It's a Leek. I absolutely fell in love with it and carried it everywhere.

Now, a month later I have:

Kershaw Blur
Kershaw Junkyard Dog II
Kershaw Vapor II
Kershaw LFK

and I just ordered

Kershaw Junkyard Dog
Kershaw Scallion
Kershaw Chive

Notice a pattern developing here.:D

I still have to say my favorite is the Leek, but that Junkyard Dog II is FUN!!!

Hey Varg Lobos, my pattern is close to yours, I'm up to 13 or 14 new kershaws in about a month now.:D

I've bought so many I can't remember them all. :) My current favorite is the Groove.:D Everyone at work loves it.:)

Have fun................;)

Always good to see its not just me.
Same situation here, and most of it is just catch up work. Haven't really even gotten to any of the newer knives yet.

The Junkyard Dog II is my favorite by far! I appreciate the assisted opening mechanism technology but only collect the manual openers.

When I got the Groove I didn't think it culd be improved upon, but then I got My Junk Yard Dog II. Wow! What a great knife! I still like the groove as it is smaller and easier to carry concealed at work (office environment). But on the weekends and evenings I find myself carrying the JYD II. Oh and it is so much fun to open!:D :D

I would have to put this into catagories.

For an inexpensive AO folder the Whirlwind
For a high end, fixed blade, the Trooper
For mid range I have liked Cyclone, Storm, Avalanche

NOW, I am considering a Leek as a EDC top choice. Almost ready to get a Leek.

At the moment.....Having fun with my new "Needs Work"
Awesome little knife !

It has a tendency to change though each time I get a new one,lol
