What is your favorite peanut?

I wanted a CV peanut but eventually decided on the Case Crandall Classic Green Bone (Upper left in the photo). I have plenty of other carbon steel knives so I went with an attractive handle instead of my preferred blade steel.

This is my favorite peanut. I tried my hand at replacing scales with antler from my first buck. It turned out good enough for me to carry.

I usually prefer carbon blades, but the amber bone looks great and there is really no significant functional difference between Tru Sharp and CV.

This is especially true in a little cutter like the peanut. I've been carrying my pocketworn Harvest Orange peanut in SS for a good while now and it's edge holding is way more than adequate.

How well do you like the pocket worn peanut? It would be great if they made one with CV so that the handle and blades could look old and well used:D.

+1 on the Case amber bone damascus blade. I carried the pocket jewlery on Valentine Day to dinner with my wife.

I LOVE it! I never thought I'd like the harvest orange, but I was looking for a Red Bone CV peanut at a Bass Pro store in South Carolina and saw the orange and decided that's what I wanted, SS or not. (Bass Pro was totally out of all their peanuts, of course. Not one was in stock. I don't mean not one harvest orange pocketworn, I mean not a single peanut of ANY type. So I ended up getting it on an ebay auction for $25 or so. Did I mention I love it!? :p )

When the "experiment is over, I am going to get myself a damascus peanut. Cross my heart, to myself.
JackKnife, You better go ahead and get one as fast as you can they are going fast. Send me a PM and I will send you a Link..

Sorry my source has dried up. I don't have a clue now
As a consolation, you might be able to find either of these. Top knife is a Bear MGC and lower is a Camillus/Sante Fe Stoneworks (non-damascus).

it may have already been said but the ultimate peanut is ................dramatic pause....................yellow scales and cv steel. accept no imitations demand the best. only kidding although it is my favorite. be careful peanuts are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

Thats knives in general for me.

I ordered a CV peanut in red bone today from shepherd hills today. I will let everyone know what I think of it when it arrives.

Welcome to the peanut family, they are great little knives. When I bought my first amber bone ss I fell in love. Since then I bought a John Deer stag, Plane old sambar stag, and a bone stag peanut. I have yet to purchase a CV but that is next on my list. (Can't wait to develop a nice patina on the blades)

The red bone on my large Copperlock is pretty dark, but I have seen some red bone that is very light/bright. Either way its a Case and a peanut at that.....you'll love it.

I just purchased the Saddlehorn with the amber jigged bone and damascus blades. It is a nice combo. The equivalent peanut would be a sweet little carry to be sure!

This goober is a little different and kind of interesting. I don't have one but am contemplating snaggage. Chestnut peachseed bone with blued CV blades.

Another vote for CASE Crandall Peanut. The green colour is wonderful, some thick scales here too, flawless fit&finish and what looks like a pinned shield....

I just counted the number of peanut offerings in the 2008 and 2008-Winter Promo catalogs and there are 21 different styles! I don't really collect just one pattern but I may start collecting peanuts now!

SS Stag
SS Old red bone
SS Harvest Orange
SS Bermuda green
SS Amber bone (wish they made this in CV!!)
SS Blue bone
SS MOP
SS WR Case
CV Dark Red!!! (have one love it!!)
SS Crandall Co.
CV Yellow (everyone needs one of these!)
SS Yellow
SS Tangerine
SS Boy Scouts of America
SS Duck Unltd
SS Yellow John Deere
SS Working/ jigged brown synthetic
SS Periwinkle bone
SS Patriotic (this one is calling me)
SS Purple spiny oyster
SS Giraffe (bone)
This does not count discontinued models from past years or specials like the blued styles.
That blued CV is interesting! The folks with the blued peanuts have 75 different styles!

What pattern does Case make the most different handle/steel styles?
Bill

God I love that blued look for the CV steel Peanut. Just don't know if I'd trust it on food stuff.
