Been wanting a good lockback or slipjoint traditional for awhile now and have been looking at the Queen lockback's with D2 the most. But am wondering what your favorite <$100 lockback or slipjoint with either 01,D2, or S30V would be? Or what are your favorites of both types lockback and slipjoint with the steels mentioned would be? Please show pics. Thanks.

I don't have a right-off-the-bat favorite model, but Queen's standard line of knives has D2 and they are a real bargain. GREAT working knives with great steel.

Definitely this #71 Bullnose in O-1 with nifebrite scales. It sharpens real easy and eats through just about anything with ease. This knife is almost always with me on the belt despite what other slipjoint is in my pocket. Good luck with your search.

I personally do not know of any s30v on a traditional.
O1 = 71

Depends on the use I suppose.

I think all of Canal Street Cutlery's pinch knives are in D2. It is a 3.5 inch lockback. They also have a larger 5" lockback but I cannot remember the name of it.

I didn't know that any company made them either but a month ago i saw one of two on here and for the life of me can't remember what they were. Doesn't Buck have some traditional lockback/slip with S30V? Pretty sure of that. And there are others i swear i saw.

I have the queen tear drop jack linerlock in D2
Sorry no pic right now.
The aged honey bone handles, like the gunstock jack
pictured above. I like it very much.

Not my picture, but this is my favorite sub $100 traditional knife. D2 steel, nice fit and finish with a slim single spring profile. I have the one pictured and also the northwoods branded version. (Made by queen with stag and the arrowhead shield)

Hearing lots of votes for Queen's. What i'm wanting to hear. Hoping somebody mentions a brand that isn't as well heard of that's good. Been looking at GEC's too. Ken Erickson knives have S30V don't they?

I don't remember seeing any of his knives with S30V blades. He could probably make one if you asked though. But he's a bit outside your budget of $100.

I didn't even think he was still making knives. Good to know. Yeah they are a bit out of my price range for the time being anyways just curious thought i've seen some of his with S30V.

GEC Farm and Field line and Queen make good knives with O1 and D2. Custom is the only way to get s30v in a traditional.

I'm a big fan of the GEC #71 Bullnose too. The Queen Mountain Man (D2) is a good value in a large locking folder.
