UK Pen knife will be in there sometime soon.

Can they be made left-handed?

I don't think Atwood makes many folders, at least not anymore. I have only seen a few, and I think I remember seeing him say somewhere that he liked making fixed blades a lot more... So, you can try to find a southpaw one, but I wouldn't be too wishful.

Back to the original topic, my favorite small knife that I own is my DDR II from knifekits. CF handles and AUS8 blade, and I made it! Well, I screwed it togather and fit the scales and blade anyway...I just wish it had a better steel for the blade. It does the job, just needs touching up pretty regularly.

My favorites that I don't own are a Dick Atkinson Small drop point folder with Ti handles, AT Barr EDC, and Jens Anso Rebel. They happen to be listed in the order i'd probably get them (or in order of increasing price).

They are all around 2.5 inch blades, which I love for EDC. I've carried much bigger knives in the past, but find that this size is all I really ever need on a daily basis. Of course, I do keep a few big thick blades in the car or on my belt if I know there are some heavy chores coming that day.

I carry and use my Activator every day. Lately it's been the 210, the 211 is back at Benchmade 'having a new blade put on it'--which strikes me as funny, because the only original parts on the knife will be some screws and the scales when I get it back.

The Knife Kits knife you posted above really caught my eye as well, but the AUS8 turned me off to it. However, I've been really impressed by the A.G. Russell Woodswalker, which sees a lot of kitchen use, and is also AUS8.

Other small ones:
Bark River's Mikro Slither. Functional, well-made, sharp little thing. If only the handle were a little longer--it's so compact I feel, uh, effeminate carrying it.

Bark River's Mini Canadian is great too, if it counts.

Peter no longer makes Solar Arcs. I had been looking for one, and they are NOT easy to find. I got lucky and found one.

SAK Classic is by far the knife I use the most. Every day.

I'd have nose hair like a monkey if it weren't for the classic:D .

I cut my eyebrows with the scissors.

Open packages.

Pick my teeth.

Get out slivers.

File nails.

Etc....

I guess that's why it's classic.

I go through about one a year

Don't get me wrong - I love exotic, beautifull knives - but when just plain usefullness comes into the equation, I'd never give up on the classic.

I have three faves , CRK Mnandi , Al Mar SLB , Strider PT . Honorable mention the Boker Subcom - Worlds best money clip .
