Well, I like their older fixed blades and maybe the new Pillar, but for the most part they have made some pretty crappy pieces since the mid 1990's both fixed and folding.SOG has been around for a long time, and I've owned many of their knives over the years. I'm the first to admit that the vast majority of their folding knives are junk, but their fixed blade knives are truly great. I've got a number of them now. My favorite are my SOG Seal FX knives. In fact, I like this line so much, I now have the 2 fixed blade models (tanto and clip point serrated), and I got the folder. Anybody else like the SOG fixed blades?
I love all of those knives, but the Tigershark is my favorite! Really, really nice! Here are a few older ones and some similar from other makers.
The big one - Tigershark

And if you want to see some knives that were actually used by frogmen, here are a few.

That's the Pillar, isn't it? It looks even better to me in black.
I had a couple of different sizes , Japan made, SOG Pentagon daggers , way back when .I can't say I have a favorite because I never pulled the trigger, but the one SOG knife I regret not purchasing was the Pentagon.
Well, so are my Bob Terzuola and RJ Martin knives, but I think at that price they should be quite a bit better, right? These SOG's were all under $200 back in the day; their value today is in the nostalgia, rarity of design, and collectability. Apples and Oranges. Why does the top post read like the re-tread of a re-tread?
In any case, the Ben Seward Body Guard is way, way better than any SOG.

Many older model factory knives are worth quite a bit more and cost a lot less when they were new, e.g. 1967 Gerber Mark II.
