What is your favorite SOG knife ?

With folders, I like the Twitch XL, Mini-Vulcan, and the Access Card 2.0 of the ones I own the best. I have quite a few of the more modestly priced ones., but I stopped buying when they came out with their Sogzilla line which copied the Spyderco hole.

With fixed blades, I like the Seal Pup Elite, any of the Bowies. The NW Ranger has a nice feel to it. The Field Pup is a good general outdoors blade similar to a Mora but with a higher price tag (especially for kids). I like the old Tigersharks in carbon steel and the Tech Bowies aren't bad from days gone by.

IF I were to buy a SOG, it would be one of their Seki, Japan models. But SOG is not what it used to be, and is overpriced as well.

I used to like my Vulcan even though the detent on the ARC lock was a joke . I bought a Benchmade 940 after I lost it, and haven't looked back since. It's not that I hate SOG. Their Twitch lineup is worth a look. I just think for the money you can get so much more in regards to quality in a knife.
The Aegis is nice. The Endura is Nicer.
The Vulcan is nice. The Griptilian is nicer.
The Tomcat is nice. The 0801 is nicer.
The Flash is ni.... nah. I don't care what Nutn says. It stinks. The Dragonfly kills it in everything but deployment speed.

Please remember these are all OPINIONS only YOU know what YOU like.
Best of luck on your search, and please post what you chose. I'd love to hear the story.

The only SOG I currently own is the Mini Aegis. It's ok. It's light, too light, and that makes it feel cheap. It's definitely not worth the price tag. I had a Spec Elite I and that was about the smoothest opening and closing knife I've ever owned. Again, a bit pricey for what you get materials wise though.

I really like the Vulcan. Had one for a long time, but unfortunately lost it. It was one of the smoothest deploying and solid knives I have owned. The visionary is nice also, as is the toothlock. I think it's safe to say....if it's a vg-10 blade from SOG, it's a pretty decent knife overall. Anything else, not so much.

Only own 2. Seal pup elite is a pretty good blade. One of the few, maybe the only, knife I didn't need to sharpen when I received it. I did anyway;). AUS-8 steel holds an edge well if not great. Takes a wicked sharp edge. Zytel handle is more comfortable than you would think. Good all around blade shape. Not overpriced for what you get. IMO.

The Mini Vulcan is excellent and is still one of my favorites to carry.

Edit: I should have added it was much better after I ground off the annoying end of the pocket clip that would catch on everything. Now it doesn't snag on every little thing and leave my pocket.

Yep. That's how I lost my Vulcan. Also, those deep carry clips bend real easy when you get it caught.

The Flash 2 (?), the smaller one where I took the one with aluminum handles, I changed the blade from a partially serrated coated blade for a satin finish plain edge.

But the other one of bet most here never heard of, the SOG Attache series, they were leather clad knives with a snap lock you could hook to a keyring or belt loop. The smaller one was a slipjoint and the larger one was identical except that it had a lockback. I'll try to find some pics. Not my pics but mine are identical except maybe a little more pocket worn. ;)

And the larger lockback.

Did I forget to mention the elusive Mini Autoclip in BG42? :)

depending on what youre going to use it for, i own a few sog knives, including jungle warrior, seal pup, and a creed and a few others, more fond of the seal pup than the other, but the creed is pretty nice, the jungle warrior is just fun, but one of my favorite sog items is actually the throwing axe, even my goofy friends were sticking it into trees the first time out
