Just wondering what your fav steel in your 110 is? I have been really enjoying my s30v blade on my Cabela's Alaskan 110.

I have a custom Stellite 6-K in a 560 (110 format) which I prefer over S-30-V, BG-42, ATS-34, or CPM-154.

Mine favorite is plain old 420HC, because I can resharpen it so easily. Not being adept at using stones, having a blade that sharpens easily using my Sharpmaker is a big plus to me.

I have a two dot with 440C, an 89 with 425M, and a 2013 with 420HC. I like the 440C the best for edge retention but I believe the 425M will take the sharpest edge of the three I have. I'm still drooling over the Alaskan Guide model though. One day............

I kinda like the plain old 420HC. Good enough, I just wipe it across my little flat stone a few licks and it comes out hair-poppin' sharp for my cutting needs. Granted, I have have limited exposure to the other steels. Ignorance is bliss I suppose....

425mod because of the fine edge you can get with that steel and the high durability of the edge in comparison to 420hc

This is how I feel as well. 420HC as heat treated by Buck is just a good, hardworking steel. I'm satisfied with my 110.

I would have to say 440C as well. I have 110's and a 112 that are screaming sharp and a joy to use.

My old user was 440c. I have nothing to complain about with that. Twenty five years of hard use and the blade is still 65%...but retired it ten years ago.

My new user is s30v. I'm amazed how long it holds an edge.

I have 110's with all the other steels and even though I haven't used most of them as much, I like all but the Damascus.

I use a belt sander and strop to sharpen and have no problem putting an edge on any of my knives.
