What is your favorite type of background for knife pictures?

I think it's pretty hard to beat a scenic landscape for a background.....

Rugs can add a nice texture without being too busy or distracting......:)

I've found that using a drawer/cabinet liner works well when doing comparison photos, it's easy to get everything lined up.....;)

I took a few new photos recently and tried a few new backgrounds using the trees in my back yard. The deck is a favorite of mine because it is so convenient. I just wait until there is shade on the deck, lay my stuff out and take quick photos.

This is just a big tree root:

Some twigs and leaves at the base of a small tree:

Andy, those are unbelieveable. I feel like I've seen the Busse/SW/SY catalogue I've dreamed of.
Is that a Wombat?:D

In general, to keep the viewer's focus on the knives, I like backgrounds of neutral tones & shades, desaturated colors, low contrast, and not too visually busy. So I use wood, organic materials, carpet, table top, concrete, or a plain color like black, brown, or white paper. IMHO camo is appropriate to use with knives, guns, ammo, field gear, and other military/outdoors subjects. Sometimes I will Photoshop a background graphic for fun. Here are a few of mine.
