what is your folder to fixed blade ratio?

I'm guessing 2:1 maybe closer to 1:1. Folders to fixed. Folders see more action for the week, fixed at the weekends.

I have 2 fixed blades for every 1 folder, not counting the big box of mall ninja fixed blades that I got before I knew any better.:)

I have about 7 or 8 fixed blades for every folder I have.I live in the big woods and always carry a solid fixed blade with me anytime I head to the woods. But I do carry a Kershaw Storm II every where with me.

More the reverse these days, if you count my swords. If you don't, I'm rapidly pushing a 1:1, as I just made another fixed blade today.

I have about five folders to every one fixed blade. I think it's because there are a lot more variations and useful sizes of folders for me than fixed blades.

lemme think.....

two folders: a Leatherman Wave and a Boker G4 (which was a prize in a competition, i most assuredly did not part with any actual $$$ for it).

Six fixed blades: Fallkniven S1, WM1-3G, Boker Rhino, UBFK11, Mora x2.

so, 3:1, fixed:folder

Off the top of my head, something like 3:5 folders to fixed, and that lone MT OTF.

Yeah, I need more folders.

My current ratio is 4 folders for every fixed blade. If you check out the knife makers knives for sale, "It always has a lot more viewers checking out the fixed blades". Either custom knives
don't fit the same paradigm, or maybe the fixed blades for sale outnumber the folders by a wide margin.

About 2-3 to 1. I go in buying spurts or more accurately spend my money on different hobbies as I come back to them. I could go a few years deep into pulling the engine on a classic motorcycle, replacing the wheel bearings, replacing valve shims, rebuilding a 4 carb rack, on and on. Or go a few years hard on metal detecting and accessories, whatever. I have rotated back into knives again this year and I'm picking more up as I go. I tend to gravitate toward folders because walking downtown with a 9 inch F.B. strapped to my leg would be weird and may cause heart flutter, fainting, and excessive spontaneous flatulence to the general public.

Yeah, folders aren't as readily available, while the fixed blades there also tend to be relatively less expensive on average.

Including multitools I have 4 folders. 1 not including multis. Without including machetes I have 2 fixed blades with a 3rd on it's way and a 4th I'm looking at.
