What is your grail knife and do you own it?

now i own my holy grail knives i have no idea what to do. i think its time to sell some property and build a house for my children to inherit. i have every knife i could ever want or need. acheiving my grail is like having my prostate removed..meh! have never experienced this before. very satisfying. oh parsifail, what becomes of us now we have and hold the grail?😇

Maybe I mentioned it before, do not own one but mine would be a Mike Mann Hudson bay. I would not be afraid to use it, it was meant for work.

I reckon that, for me, there's always another grail hiding behind the one I'm eyeing at the moment. I'm basically collecting high-end production and mid-techs. There's a whole world of customs I only dare peer at through the corner of my eye.

If you wouldv'e asked me this earlier in the year I wouldve responded with no.

But recently I have come to terms with never owning a Scott Cook Lochsa so.. yeah I do currently own a few of my grails at this point.

An Alan Davis custom, someday will be mine. I almost had one in 2015, to commemorate 25 years brain tumor free, which would have been 2/27/2016. I had been discussing materials, etc, with him, but alas my ever expensive ex-wife made me reallocate funds.

This year marked 30 years brain tumor free, 3 years since my liver transplant. and December will mark 3 years cancer free. I plan to someday own that custom Alan Davis, but not anytime soon. A new car is next on the list.

For those unfamiliar with Alan's work, here is one I like in particular:

My Alan Davis - not made for me - is really nice. It is on the right. I've given up on obtaining a Scott Cook Lochsa. But between my customs and Mnandis I have all the semi-Grails I want.

He does excellent work. If I'm still alive, I'll have one made when I hit the 35 year tumor free mark in 2026.

I had thought that the soul of this horse had long departed but there are still others rescuing this thread from the depths. I'm a little late with my annual contribution.

This list is the ones I would "still" buy, and is considerably slimmer than the "kitchen sink" list. That prodigious (around 150 knives) catalog is still a part of the same document that I copied this from, I just don't update it anymore. It's an archive that I can look at and ask myself what in the world I was thinking
when I wanted that?!

I don’t know if I’d call it a grail knife but probably the closest to it that I’ve got would be a night sky Sebenza. I haven’t ever really tried to find one to buy but will one day.

Plus one on a large night sky sebenza. Bought one last year. It is a beautiful knife. Really do not need any others.

Here are my grails, my real grail could never be afforded by me. Was told they're 10 to 15k.
