kind of depends on your definition of grail I guess. I think one part of it has to be a knife you searched for or waited for for a long time.

I don't have a knife like that, however I do have a knife I bought on a whim which turned out to be about as perfect a knife as I could ask for. it made me stop buying knives altogether and rode in my pocket for nearly two and a half years straight.

Sprint run Spyderco Military with CPM M4 steel, titanium frame lock, with g10 non locking scale.

ergonomics are out of this world for a knife so thin and flat. unbeatable IMO. the steel is ridiculous, makes s30v look like pot metal. the half titanium, half g10 gives it a near mid tech feeling in hand. the blade profile just screams for utility and cutting. durable enough for constant and related hard use, yet delicate and slicey enough for fine use.
