What is YOUR knife collection worth...

What a fun question to ponder, good post. If I took a rough guess, I'd say I'm somewhere between 1&2G prolly closer to the 1.

That's why I really like knives. I know there are very expensive knives, but honestly - if you pay 200bux for a gun, you might have the bare minimum of usable equipment, u might have just wasted 2bilz on junk. Whereas if you spend 200bux on a knife, you probably ended up with something worth showing off pictures of online.

I am more of an accumulator than collector. If I find that I am not using something, I get rid of it, usually through trading so I can cheaply try something else.

Right now, I probably have about a dozen knives, including multi tools - all users. The most expensive was a custom that was $140. The total value of my sharp things is probably well under $1,000.

I consider my "collection" to be limited to knives I have at home. That being said, my guess is 2-3k. If you also mean knives I'm waiting for Reese Weiland to finish, that bumps it up another 3k.

I got around $600 currently. When my next package comes in it would be around $800 total. not bad considering my stash are mostly mid-range slipjoints and a few nicer knives. I have a real nice Gransfors Bruks axe coming soon.

I talked to a guy at blade for about thirty minutes. He had some really awesome knives on his table so I stopped and talked.

Turns out it was Reese Weiland. I felt stupid for not knowing. Haha.

If I remember correctly he also had some pretty badass medieval type stuff he made. I took some pics, I'll see if I can find them. Sorry for the hijack.

This is the only Reese Weiland custom I own so far. It's a proto fixed blade version of his Nighthawk folder ground from Ti. He said he'd be willing to make another for 300.

My collection has various values depending on who you ask.

That said, I use most of mine, so they are not really worth very much, but since I am not selling any of them...they might as well be worthless.

I don't know, I don't want to know.
+1:thumbup: This time around, it's not that bad. Back in 2006 I dumped around $8000.00 worth of knives for $1500.00. Divorce will put you in check quick.

It was roughly 2000 right before Christmas last year. So, 'd say maybe 2300-2500 right now.

About 6 months ago I have had to put together a list of my knives with a price estimation. I have done that for customs, so my estimation was quite conservative... It turned out about 16 k for 200 something knives. That was quite a surprise. I certainly saw this coming, but still...
The good thing is that I do not buy knives at the same rate as I used to. In the 6 months that passed since I have bought just one knife and presented one of mine to a friend.

More of an accumulation than a collection, and with that considered, the value becomes mostly subjective.

To me it's priceless, to someone who doesn't know what I have into it or what the current market may bring it could be worth $50, Let's say this, with 300+ knives in my accumulation at a price range of $1 to $400 a piece it would hurt my head too much to figure it out.

My collection as figured out on paper is worth about $2000 This includes my Northern King axe and my CS Rifleman Hawk. I never regret any of my purchases.

Since getting divorced in '06, and having to sell a LOT of knives to cover all cost's I was responsible for, I've been able to bounce back and have something just north of $3000. Funny thing though. After selling those knives, I swore I would never have that many again. Now I have more knives, and more money in those knives, than I ever have! But hey, I ain't sad about it!!:thumbup::)

I haven't added the value exactly but a rough estimation would be around $1,500. I too always wondered about those massive Busse and/or custom folder collections.

Between $800 and $1k on the used market I'd estimate. There are a lot of under $50 dollar knives that it would depend on how fast I needed to sell them or how long I'd be willing to wait to get what it's 'worth'.
