For pure comfort and convenience, neck knife. Mostly, around the house and yard for years, it's been the Benchmade 180 Outbounder in D2 ("Oak"), worn Native American style in an UPRIGHT sheath, so I can not only draw but return it one-handed, either hand. It's always in the same spot no matter how I'm dressed, how many layers, winter or summer, whether I have a belt on or not. it can be accessed without opening my jacket or coat in the winter and losing both time and body heat, I can wear it inside my shirt or jacket to conceal it or keep it warm and flip it out when I need it without fussing with clothing. It's clear of (most) pack straps and seat belts, and just as easily accessible in a chair as standing. Neck carry is the only carry I find that is really comfortable for being lazy- snoozing on a couch or hammock, I forget it's there at exactly the time something on the belt becomes the most nuisance, which means I don't have the tendency to take it off just when I'm at my most vulnerable and prone to being startled.
The Outbounder is relatively flat, full but tapered tang with thin scales like a folder, but more comfortable in the hand than a skeletonized knife. It's relatively lightweight, and with a 3-finger handle it has a lot of blade/edge for its overall length. And of course it's discontinued. There are probably others that would work about as well.
I have a ton of folders, but aside from a couple of failures the ones with pocket clips are mostly about the same as far as comfort of carry.
