What is your most used traditional knife?

Can I get a definition of "Traditional?" I say USMC Ka-Bar. It's a 69 year old design, that's what I call tradition.

There is certainly tradition in that knife, great tradition, particularly on Memorial Day. Just browse this sub-forum to get a sense what "traditional" means. Mostly slipjoints, smaller knives that have a rich history of being utilitarian in either the field, the farm or ranch; or, domestically. Even the field knives are game processing knives and not killing tools. Classic patterns, scales, steel; and, their current interpretation is at the heart of all traditional knives.

This one's pretty new, but is quickly becoming my most-used slip joint. There are other knives I use more, but they may or may not fit the fairly limited definition of "traditional" that's used around here.

That's a pretty knife! The scales really make that knife elegant.

IMO - Copperheads are clearly in the traditional arena.

As I said to a friend when I bought it, it's the kind of knife a Vanderbilt or a Getty would have carried on-board the Titanic. It's true, too.

It's not really on-topic, because I rarely use this one, but here's A.G. Russell's 35th Anniversary Knife Collectors' Club knife.

I think my CV Case medium stockman probably has the most miles on it, but my GEC Tidioute single blade scout is creeping up on it. Both are great for slipping in a pocket and forgetting about them until they are needed.

A Case large Stockman with blue Workman scales and on ocassions when that's too big I get by with a Buck 301

For me, I almost always carry a Vic Climber in town, and Huntsman in the woods. For American traditional, the stockmans have always been my favorite, rotating through Cold Steel (love that Carbon V), and Queens in D2 with amber bone.

I dont carry tradtionals very much but my case hunpback stockman has the most use, unless a swiss army knife counts then its my tinker by a long shot down the street around the corner and through a basketball hoop

For the most part, I can only be reasonably sure of the style: stockman. On any given day, I might very well have 2 or 3 pocketknives on me. A couple of them are usually stockmans, among the following:

Buck 307
8OT Old Timer
425DS Eye Brand
Case 10375 (orange G-10 large stockman)

And, just yesterday, I filed down the kick on the sheepsfoot in my Queen #49 Cattle King. Sheepsfoot hides very snugly & discreetly behind the clip now, and I really like it. Something tells me, that'll be in the rotation, too. :)

Amber Bone Queen Canoe most of times. Everytime I unfold this knife it amaze me.

These are both in my pocket every day-- A little Rough Rider whittler and a Henckels stockman with an extra blade-- I like having all those blade options!

Cool knives, Nixel. Hope you don't run out of blade options.

Thanks! The only problem I have right now is that I can't bring myself to buy any more knives because I feel like I have all my bases covered:(........:D

My most used in last 3 years has been a vic. rambler, no matter what other knife a carry I always carry it. I use scissors and small screwdrivers alot. I always carry another pocket knife , usually one of 4 trappers or a vic alox harvester or a vic workchamp. Most use in my whole live would be a ka-bar trapper given to me be my Uncle 28 years ago. I use a vic multi-tool alot but that mostlikely does not fix in traditional.

Not sure if there has been a thread about this or not, but I though it would be interesting to see what everyone's most used knife is. Not your favorite knife, or your "if I could have only one" knife, as these may not always be your most used. For example, for me, if I had to pick only one to keep it would be the Case pen yellar that my boy gave me, but this isn't my most used for fear of messing it up or losing it. My most used is a Schrade/ Walden 34 OT . So, what knives are you guys using the most?

When I get a new knife, it stays in my pocket for a while until I get to know how it carries and uses. But, if I were going to hang onto only one traditional it would be a Buck 301.
