What is your opinion on Belt buckle knives?

saw this the other day. It really looks great~!

having a belt buckle and knife combo really sounds great.

any buddies have such buckles already? :o
 
I have a Gerber Touche. Like you I think its cool. The Touche had a habit of accidentally opening , so I quit wearing it.

I had one for a while, I got it as a novelty but I actually liked it. I would still have it but one day it fell out of the buckle though because the retention wasnt that good. I like the idea but I have yet to find a quality knife/buckle combo.
 
As Deadeye Lefty said, they are illegal in Canada, but I always wanted one of the Gerber Touche's.

After confiscating a Gerber Touche I never had any desire to use one, besides being illegal here I found them to be to small to be of any use.
 
You rarely see those here since they're illegal, but I've seen people with them, mostly kids. Even if they were legal, I don't know how comfortable I'd be with a blade so close to my family jewels.
 
I can't see the point really, from a survival perspective I mean.
 
That Gerber was designed by Blackie Collins who sold the patent to Gerber, I have one of Blackie's originals and one by Gerber, never wore the Gerber one, but Blackies never opened accidentally, actually wore it pre 911 onto airplane. It also locked up well in the open position, handy if you are knife naked but for it.
