What is your preference order after HT?

Will be recieveing my knives back from peters for HT.
I know everyone probably does it different. Was just wondering what some peoples ideas where on the order of things done after HT.
I was planning on hand finish the blades to satin finish of 1,000 or 1,200, then putting the handle on while having the blade taped to protect the finish, then final edge placement?
Does this sound right, recommendations?

That's the way I do it. Hand finish, then tape the blade, then install the handles. I also like to etch my mark before I do the handles. Gives you a little more room to correct fuzzy etching, etc.
