What is YOUR Survival knife?

Hypothetically, if you had to get out of your house fast, in some emergency/doomsday/etc. situation, what would be the knife you would grab? What is the knife that you could depend your life on? The knife that could do the most tasks in one package? The one you would want if you were stranded in the wilderness?

:D

Busse NMFBM! I think this is the only knife I have that could be called a survival knife.

Maybe my Air Force survival knife, unless I was expecting combat, in which case I might bring my Kabar USMC.

This is assuming I can only bring one knife. More realistically I'd bring more than one knife for different tasks, such as a SAK.

Izula 2 or mora companion mg. I assume by asking about knives you aren't considering axes, machetes or multitools.

Well, I dont own any fixed blades so I guess it would be the Para Military 2 that I have on me.

I'd grab a sharpening stone, I can make do with any of my knives. :D

To keep this as simple as possible, the bare minimum knife I would grab would be a Mora (I have several different models and any would do). A mora style knife does everything any knife should do, and does so with flying colors. Will it split logs into firewood like one of those sharpend prybars some people like? No, and its a lousy hammer, wrench, corkscrew, cooking pot..etc. Its simply a great knife, for knife work.

In reallity unless I was fleeing naked, there would also be a folder in my pocket, and a CS bushman in my pack.

So, folder, mora, and bushman are the basic "knives" I would take, but the last thing I would do is focus on "the knife"...the knife is not the star of the show.

You could build another Ark with that

And it handles small tasks very nicely as well! I've used it in everything from arid summer heat to freezing ice storms and feel 110% confident that I could make do with it as my only sharp tool for the rest of my life if I had to. I'd still prefer options of course (variety is the spice of life!) but it really is the perfect do-all for me. And y'all can try 'em yourself in 2013. :D

I would grab the Tracker 2 for myself and the BK7 for the wife. Hopefully a couple more choices will be arriving in the mail soon. Of course, realistically I would grab as many as I could.

Any of my customs from Scott Gossman,Daniel Fairly,Bill Siegle,Jeremy Horton,Trace Rinaldi,Bruce Culberson. Any one of these would work I would have to have my M.U.S.K. made for me by Scott Gossman. It has a 4 inch blade 3/16 thick and 1 1/2 inches wide. I don't go any wheres with out this knife!

Santa brought me a Buck 060 Hoodlum... but I haven't played with it much - yet. Until it passes muster, I'd say my ESEE-5 (Actually, an RC-5!) - or BK-2. Maybe an RC-4. But... I would cheat and have a pocket knife, too.

Seriously, if you have any decent knife with you, be it 'just' a folder, like a Vic SAK Farmer, Buck 110, Benchmade 755 or 275, or ZT, it's mostly your mindset that counts.

If it's this ^^^^^

My Fallkniven F1. Hasn't let me down in 3 years of outdoors use.

If not,

I could get by with just my SAK or just my Wetterlings hatchet.

For me survival is what's in your head not your tools.

I would take my Andrew Demko Custom American Lawman, or my Alan Davis Custom Framelock, or my Rick Hinderer XM18. I think any of the 3 would do the trick! THANKS! Kevin :D:D
