OK, if money was no object, what would be your ultimate grail knife?
Folder or fixed blade, doesn't matter.

I think for me it would have to be a Herman Dragonfly or Sting in Timascus and Damasteel, I just love everthing about them! Such awesome knifes!! 🤤

Edit: This question has probably already been asked, but I'm asking it anyway, because why not.

It changes, but at the moment a De Leon sword, one came up on the bay a few months ago with a 99 cent opening bid, then disappeared after a day or so. I think the seller was probably contacted by someone. It did eventually show up on my watch list as sold as a buy it now??? but i never got the chance to bid.

*S7 stock isn't available in anything above .225" thickness, so it's gonna' be executed in .290" 5160.

EDIT- I just realized that I posted "S7" but meant "8670". 8670 is not available thicker than .225".

I haven’t seen my grail knife anywhere yet. I’ve come close, but not exactly.

It would look a lot like the Ochs Worx Solarstorm, maybe slightly thicker, but not much. Definitely a flipper. It would be a liner lock instead of frame, and have medium-dark wood grain inlays instead of CF (something like the Macassar ebony on the
Mnandi), but polished and flush with the titanium. I’d be perfectly content with the same M390 or S35VN steel; but since money is no object, then why not S110V.

The first fixed blade I make myself. Material removal.
The next will be the first fixed blade that I forge the blade stock and hand-lay the micarta.

I'd like to find a pocketknife made by the Grahamsville Cutlery Co.
They were only around for about a year or so about 140 years ago.
With all those forges working hard: they burnt down. Their factory was only about four houses West of my shack...

In my humble opinion, us "knife" guys are allowed to have more than one "grail" knife, depending on the design/application.

While some of y'all love the folding "pocket jewelry" stuff, I'm a big fan of either REALLY LARGE or REALLY SMALL fixies. I posted both of these in other threads over the last few days. One is a GEC fixie, and the other is 5/16ths of INFI hostility.

Sure, some of you may not consider these "grail" knives, but I think it's safe to say that both are "unicorns" in their own right...

*I scored both, "new and unused", in the Exchange.

OK, you're off my ignore list (not that you were ever really on it for any length of time, lol). And I'm gonna need pictures of this one or the next "ignore" will be permanent. 🤣 🤣 🤣

LMAO!

You're the first one on my list for pics, Brother.

*We've name it the "Leal/Gingrich APEX Bowie", in honor of the Warner/Moran Rio Grande Bowie.

Nice. Truly looking forward to seeing this beast. šŸ˜

How long do you have to wait?

Here's probably my top three grails as of right now. Not particularly in these exact combinations of finishes, but close. I was going to just list them in text, but everyone loves pictures!

If you don't love it, I'll eat one of my shoes.

*I've been harassing Justin with e-mails, going back and forth, for the better part of the last two or three months. At this point, I think he's building it just so that he doesn't have to deal with my sorry ass ever again. šŸ˜„
