I see allot of you guys carry heavy knives. My weight limit on EDC is around 3.5 ounces. Might go up on occasions but I found that my heavier folders usually stay home. Actually the older I get, the smaller and lighter I get (with knives). I wish I could say the same about belly fat.

I'd say 6 ounces is my absolute limit.
Unless I'm carrying something for a certain reason, I won't carry anything over that.

I am carrying my heaviest to date for the first time today. A Rat Cutlery RC 3 in sheath. So far don't even notice, but I am at work where carrying heavier items on my belt is the norm.

Don't pay much attention to weight as long as it's not too light. I really dislike featherweight knives. I finally sold off the last of the unlinered lightweights I had and won't buy anymore.

I carry based on what I'm going to be doing with the knife that day, but even my small lightweights will be small Sebbies or Caly 3s. I don't have anything lighter than that. Sometimes I still strap on the old Buck 112. Usually, though, it'll be between a Caly 3 a small Sebbie, or an SnG.

Overall thickness and pocket clip placement is more important than weight. I have some heavier (over 4 oz.) folders that carry well, and others that carry like crap because they're to thick or the clip sucks.

I'd say about 2 lbs. is my limit.

You Gorilla, you!! :)

I'm the exception, I'd guess! I live in the country and often have to clear brush from around our property. I almost always have a large chopper either on me or close by for this work.

I don't pay any attention to weight, to answer the question more properly. I just carry what I pick up.

I'm ok with 9 ounces or less when wearing jeans because my everyday belt is a 1 1/4" gun belt. Frankly I have no idea I'm carrying when I have a ZT 0300 in my jeans pocket but I do go lighter when I have shorts on. I tend to go to a Kershaw Boa or BM Nitrous Stryker or even the BM 710 which is not that light. Sometimes the G10 Kershaw Spec Bump.

The lighter the better for me. In my current edc rotation I have a small classic inlay sebenza, a buck/mayo tnt, and a buck/mayo waimea - all are titanium framelocks that weigh less than 3 oz. (the Waimea weighs just a hair under 2 oz.)

i find 4 oz to be normal weight, under 3 oz lightweight, and the max in a EDC 7oz, folder that is :D
i normally carry something around 3 - 4 oz

I think my limit is 4 oz (what my spyderco military weighs). Anything heavier and I feel it pulling my pants or pocket down.

The heavier the better! I once put a pocket clip on an Ontario Retribution 1, which weighs over 10 ounces, and carried it in pocket and enjoyed it! The heaviest I carry now is probably on my Strider AR's and they weigh in at 8.6 ounces. To me, anything under 6 ounces is almost too light. May be why I favor my Fallkniven PXL (6.2 ounces) over my CRK Umnumzaan (5.0 ounces).:D:D

8oz. After you get past 0.5lb its really too much for a folding knife which is what I EDC. Thats my limit though, my carry is usually split between a mini commander and an alias 1 which are both like 4oz, so I can actually carry both around D:

btw I find the 710, which is slightly heavier than both of those, to be the best fit in the pocket.

I'm not too concerned with weight (in an EDC, I'm too fat tho). I prefer a EDC with liners in them, I feel better for some reason knowing I have some reinforcement in there.

I'm also 280 lbs (6'7") so a few extra ounces won't make much difference.

As long as my pants don't fall down when I walk down the street I'm good!! I have never owned a knife I would not carry so I dont know what my limit is.

you, and your imperial units...okay, google does conversions
id say 6 oz, and 8 is already too much. I have no probs carrying SMF, but ZT302 "feels" in pocket.
