What is your weight limit on your day pack?

0 - 50 pounds, depending on whether the hike is 2 hours or 14, and what I'm planning to do along the way. Depends on the chances of an inadvertent overnight, availability of water, etc.

Usual pack for a 10 hour day of walking with no water available is 20-25lb.

I've purposely gone to a small pack (~ 16 liters/1000 cu in) to help keep weight to a minimum, it still contains everything I might need if caught out- every item is carefully scrutinized and if not needed is left behind, items chosen are as light as feasible

even w/ items that might not make into many day packs (stove/cook kit, food for a overnight, tent/tarp w/ guy lines/stakes, bivy, insulated pad -albeit a thin one :), clothing, folding saw, etc) my daypack for "summer" is still in the ~ 4-5 lb range, for "winter" it goes up ~ 2.5 lbs (axe, candles, mittens, balaclava)

I can cover a LOT of country not being fettered down w/ a heavy pack- it's much easier on the body too :D

I'm usually up around 15lbs, but then I also carry a full 2 liters of water (it's pretty dry around here and I sweat like a pig). I also always carry enough stuff to get me through an overnight stay, just because.

My daypack goes < 20 lbs.

Hy hunting pack goes 20 lbs for an all-day hunt (2 hours before sunrise to 1 hour after).

My backpack goes to 35 lbs for a 3 day trip. A lot of this weight will be good conventional food, like you would eat at home. I don't like freeze dried much.

33 is standard and 39 to 43 with weapons.
No day pack for me. My hammock and sleeping bag always go where I go.
All it takes is a landslide and I could be on foot for 2 or 3 days just to get back to the farm.

About 10 lbs. dry, 14-17 lbs with 2L or 3L of water. More if I'm bringing activity specific items.

You all are pretty funny with your "full two liters of water" and suchlike. My normal water load is 5 liters. But then I routinely hike dawn to dark where there is no dependable water at all to pump or purify or even to drink in an emergency. I suppose I could chew on a cactus, but it would have to be an emergency.

water is such a variable depending on where your at- I carry a 1 liter and a 0.5 liter platy usually- often only the 0.5 gets filled if I'm hiking along a reliable route :)

I've never thought too much about the weight. If I need it, it comes with me.

that used to be sentiment exactly, after paying attention to weight for both backpacking and day hiking/fishing/hunting I find I am able cover much more turf in a day- at less of a "cost" on my body!

I'm not skimping much, just choosing very (very) carefully :)
